Thinking about a family trip to Myrtle Beach and was wondering if any of the Myrtle Beach HGVC resorts are better than others for younger kids. Kids' ages are 5 and 2.5. We've been to Myrtle Beach twice, but this would be the first time staying HGVC.

Seems to me the best HGVCs in MB by order of ranking are 1) Ocean Enclave, 2) Ocean 22, and 3) Anderson Ocean Club.

Ocean 22 is the only one I have stayed at, rankings above are based on what I have learned on TUG. Ranking above is also from newest to oldest. AOC is most dated. Ocean 22 and Ocean Enclave are quite nice and modern. The waiting for the elevator situation can be a bit of a frustration at Ocean 22, and is not so much of a problem at Ocean Enclave.

Exception: If you want a studio, AOC is the only place to go.

Disclaimer: I own AOC, but have never stayed there.

PS: I would rather go a little further (for me) and stay at Ocean Oak at HHI until the kids are old enough to figure out they would rather go to Myrtle Beach (water parks, go-karts, mini golf, etc.)

Ocean 22 might be a better choice. If i remember correctly, Ocean Enclave is closer to the Boardwalk and that area gets a little crazy at night. Ocean 22 is a few blocks north and with the young ones, it might be a bit quieter of a neighborhood. I could be totally wrong as I’ve never stayed at Enclave (absolutely would if/when we go back to Myrtle Beach), but I seem to remember that area being a bit busier. We actually walked from Ocean 22 to the Boardwalk one night and it was more crowded and noisy.

It is all a bit more crowded and noisy than I would like .... but it will not keep my family from returning. Better than Virginia Beach (non-HGVC location).

The North end of the Boardwalk ends at Ocean Enclave. Being able to get out to do some non beach walks on the boardwalk was nice and might be handy if you have a stroller.. There is a rooftop bar at the first building to the south that your can hear noise from the music they play. We were in a 1BR Oceanfront on a high floor and could hear some noise a couple of the nights we were there. Otherwise the building was really quiet. We also walked through parts of the the other two resorts and the drop off area/elevator situation at OE seemed the best of the three. There are two outdoor pools at OE and one is covered which might be an option to sit out of the sun. There are also some cabana type areas above the uncovered pool that have tv’s and some more comfortable seating. Not sure on the price of those.
