What to do with Banked Points?

I am new to the Destination Club so I read a lot of the articles on this forum. One thing that seems not well documented is what can be done with banked points? I know you can trade them for bonvoy points but not much bang for your buck. I tried to transfer to Interval but that button did not seem to be there. I don't know if you are allowed to transfer them to another owner? Or rent them? I only have 1000points left and really don't want to use it for the useless Avis certificate. Looking to understand my options. Much thanks!

The best option is to take a trip or add to a trip if you can. You can use them for resort credits at many resorts if you have a stay this year. You can pay for the travel insurance if you need it. You could ask MVC to send a deposit to Interval which will effectively extend the points but they won't be worth as much. You could rent them but can't transfer them. There are a few other options to use for cash type items.

I didn't realize you can trade banked points for Bonvoy points or deposit with interval. I thought those were things for use-year points. Always something new to learn here... :)

I don't think you can trade for Bonvoy as you would be past the Bonvoy conversion deadline which would have been the previous year.

We used them for one of the many hotels in the system. 500 pts got us a nice suite in the Seattle Westin.

My best advice is to do a chat on the MVC website and get the answer.
You need to type agent or advisor to get by the bot.
Chat is great because they can ask you to wait a moment and they seem to have a cut and paste answer book to ensure you get the correct answer.
You can save the transcript so you have the facts for the future.
I have the list for holding account points, but not banked.

Great reply folks. Getting someone over the phone lately has been poor. Will look into resort credit. Could use a good massage.

Yes I was surprised too that the option is there. But I'd barely get 20k in points. Like I said not worth it to me.

That‘s why I suggest chat.
Sometimes there’s a wait first hour open in the morning but otherwise it’s easy, plus you have your answer in writing.
Be sure to check what’s included with resort credit at each location, some don’t include the spa
