We are flying out early in June (6:20 am flight) and would like to book a good inexpensive motel that is clean and safe and comfortable. Thanks for any advice from seasoned travelers Should I book on Priceline and pay airport parking or book a motel directly that includes parking & shuttle service 24 hours?

Have you looked at the Park-sleep-fly website? They spell out all the costs and they have reviews: www.parksleepfly.com

With Priceline, you can't choose the motel, so you have no guarantee of an airport shuttle, and it does not include additional parking.

The Charlotte Sheraton Airport is a very nice hotel right at the airport with shuttle. I'm not sure about parking, you may have to call and ask.
If you have Amex SPG points it's only 3000/4000 points per night.
This is where we stay even for weekend trips to Charlotte. As a matter of fact my wife is there now with our grandkids for a Cheering competition. Easy to get to,right off I-85. They have a Club floor and Club lounge for Gold /Platuim members.

I have had better (cheaper + nicer motels) using Stay123.com - same idea as Park-Sleep-Fly where you get your room and most times up to 14 (sometimes 21) days of free car parking.
