I was looking at a resort that offers UDI ownership. does anyone has experience with this? If it is considered select resort by II and silver crown by RCI, what does it mean in turn of trading power?

I have seen UDI type ownership talked about on FF or Wyndham boards, not sure if other systems have it also. Not sure exactly how it affects trading or if it does.

UDI's mean different things at different resorts. If you identify the resort, you will probably get a pretty good answer. Since you're from Illinois, I'm betting you might be talking about a Wisconsin Dells resort.

I am talking about the christmas lodge at wisconsin dell. how does UDI work at this result?

I mean the resort is christmas mountain village. for tug members who has a ts there, please tell me under the UDI system, is it easy to book a summer week there using the 45 day last minute period? how is the trading power of a blue or white week there either with II or RCI? thanks for your help in advance.

It is possible to book a 45 day summer week, but I not say it is easy. You would likely need to be persistant and call daily to see if there is a late cancellation. There are Timbers UDIs and Cottage UDIs at Christmas Mountain. Since there are more Cottage UDIs you would have a better chance getting a 45 day reservation than you would a Timbers. You can only make a reservation in the type of unit you own.

I traded a Timbers UDI white week back into RCI for a summer week this year. That is another way you might consider to get a summer week if a 45 day reservation is not available. Of course you have to pay the exchange fee and you would not be able to rent it out.

There are many here more knowledgable on trading power. My experience is only with RCI and I have often received nice, like size,Gold Crown units in red season for white week UDIs. I don't have any experience with Blue UDI weeks.

UDI is defined as "undivided interest". Normally in a points resort, this means that you may own 100,000 points out of the 100,000,000 points that comprises the entire ownership of the resort.

As someone posted earlier, there are variances among different timeshare companies that can alter the above definition.
