When looking at the map of Wyndham Resorts at https://www.clubwyndham.com/cw/resorts.page I see that there are resorts labeled differently.

What is the difference between resorts that state:

1. Wyndham Club Pass Resort
- I see these are all or mostly WorldMark. Can resale Wyndham owners reserve these?

2. Club Wyndham Plus Resort

3. Associate Resort

4. Associate Hotel

In looking at the map it seems like there are a ton of options for Wyndham, but I'm sure there are restrictions, fees, or it's otherwise misleading to make it look better on a map.

As always, your help is appreciated!

Andy

I can only answer Question 1. Resell Wyndham and resell Worldmark Owners can not Book through Club Pass directly. You have to do an Exchange through RCI. Also Wyndham counts every Wyndham and Worldmark Owner as a Member of Club Pass (jacks up their numbers) but you can only Book through Club Pass with Developer bought Poimts.

These are Wyndham's Glossary definitions...
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Affiliate Locations: Resorts at which accommodations are made available when individual timeshare owners assign the use rights of their non-Wyndham Vacation Resorts ownership interest to CLUB WYNDHAM Plus program.

Associate Locations: Additional non-Wyndham Vacation Resorts developed or managed resorts where occupancy may be available to CLUB WYNDHAM Plus Members for a limited period of time, seasons and accommodations.
----------------------------------------------------------------------
Affiliate resorts may be available because Wyndham managed the resort at one time and sold points conversion to the owners before leaving as management. An example is Coconut Malorie in Ocean City MD. Fairfield (now Wyndham) took over management of an existing resort and some owners converted their weeks to FairShare Plus (now Club Wyndham Plus) points. Even though a new management company came in later, Wyndham continued to honor the points contracts. You can expect the inventory to be very limited, since only some weeks and units were converted. Affiliate resorts tend to have long term ties to Wyndham but they are not managed by Wyndham.

Associate resorts, hotels, or condo developments may enter into contracts with Wyndham to offer lodging to members. The contracts are temporary, may be mostly off-season and/or carry high points requirements. Some of them provide extras, like daily housekeeping or an exceptional location.

Non Wyndham units are only available off season and club pass is a complete waste of money. They charge a 99$ booking fee. Only look at Wyndham and Margaritaville when figuring out which locations you can efficiently use your membership at.

Unless you want to go out West, where Worldmark has a lot of facilities.

This depends on which money they consider Club Pass to be a waste of. If it's the $99 exchange fee, and someone finds something they want to book in Club Pass, that certainly seems worth the money, as you state. I've spent way more to book in RCI for an exchange I thought was worthwhile.

However, if it's the cost of buying retail vs. resale in order to have access to Club Pass at all, as advice to a prospective resale owner I heartily agree that Club Pass isn't worth that cost. If you regularly want to stay in Worldmark resorts, consider buying a resale Worldmark contract instead. If you occasionally want to stay in Worldmark, rent from an owner.

cbyrne sounds like he's speaking about owners, not a non-owner contemplating a purchase.

It is in that context that I responded.

You can't even book Club pass unless you buy retail points....which is a waste of money unless you PIC to VIP which requires at least 14K for Silver and 21K for gold. On top of it, you have to pay an extra $99 to book.
