I bought a wetsuit last year and took it with me to Maui this year. I wonder now how you need to store it so it will still be good for next year? I know that I had to wash and rinse it or soak it in baking soda but what else? Do you hang it up in a plastic cover or is that not a good idea?

What is the best way to store a wetsuit?

Wetsuits are typically made of neoprene rubber which deteriates over time. Once the suit has been well rinsed and is dry, put it on a clothes hanger and keep it in cool dry place (closet, garage, basement).
I've got suits I've owned for more than 10 years still hanging up and ususally I get rid of them once they have too many holes which I can't fix. They all hang in my garage which is out of the sun but varies in temperature over the year.
