We are going to disney in December of 2008 and we are arriving three days prior to check in. I was hoping to rent a timeshare for the three days. Is there a best way of accomplishing this? We need two studio's or one-bedrooms. Any ideas?

Thanks
Barb

You can rent specific days from a Fairfield points owner. The timeshares in the Fairfield/ Wyndham system rent for three days at a time and are preferable to a hotel. Bonnet Creek is a beautiful property and might be just the ticket for you.

Thanks Ciny!

How do I go about renting from an owner? Do I just go onto the Fairfield website?

Thanks
Barb

You can also rent points from Disney Vacation Club members on the dis boards.

If you are a member of II you should just try to get a getaway for the week and just use what you need. I've seen 2 bedrooms for $350 for the week, like in spring time.

If you are looking for a condo, rather than hotel/motel, they are also available on Hotwire. I almost got one for an extra night we needed in Orlando in January, but got two hotel rooms for less ($70 total).

It depends on exactly when in December you need them.

We stayed at the nick hotel once and they have kitchnettes. Its also a little of a diversion from Disney. However if I were to rent a TS it would be Bonnet Creek or DVC.

Back to the OP, if you will google Orlando Timeshares For Rent, you will be busy for days!

Not timeshares specific, but I have found some great rates on www.hotelopia.com - rates got even better after applying the discount code:31245630

My friends rented a 3 br Grande Cypress for 1300$ for 3 weeks in July.
Other friends rented The Fountains 2 br for 1150$ for the same 3 weeks in July (they preferred the Fountains because of the daily light cleaning). They made reservations much earlier though.

Haven't checked rates for a while but according to other friends, the discount coupon still works.

Oh, and don't forget to sign up for www.myshoppingrewards.com first to get 5% cashback on hotelopia.

As a benchmark, when I was looking on hotwire for our January extra night I saw condos for as little as $75.

I took 2 rooms at the Extended Stay Deluxe, Universal area and a very convenient location for Orlando, for a total of $75.40, including taxes and fees. Those rooms have a full refrigerator and kitchenette.
