What is supplied?

For those of you who have stayed at WKORV or WKORVN, what expendable items are supplied? Will we need to get paper towels, sugar, salt & pepper, etc.? If provided, will they be replentished at the mid-week cleaning?
I vaguely remember someone mentioning that binoculars were in the rooms. Is this true? I presume that beach towels are always available near the pools.
Any info along these lines would be appreciated; we will be staying at the villas for the first time in three weeks and want to avoid as many surprises as possible. Thanks.

We've always been started off with a roll paper towels, a small thing of dish detergent, small hotel sized bars of soap and small bottles of shampoo. This is a good start, but you'll have to reup shortly into your trip. These aren't generally replaced during the midweek cleaning, but they're not overly expensive either. Safeway and Star Market aren't far away. I've never had to replenish salt and pepper, so I'm sure there's enough for the week.

There are plenty of towels to be had by the pool, so you won't need to bring those. If you can get away with packing your own snorkel, fins and mask you'll find it helps a bunch. I've never found binoculars in any of our OV rooms.

There are paper towels, a small supply of dishwasher powder, one sample of Tide and one sample of Bounce. There is a small bottle of dish detergent. We bring our own sugar, salt, and pepper.

Have a great time!

We have never seen binoculars either. Maybe it is something you check-out at the front desk...

Also in coffee pot, 2 packs of coffee (decaf, caf), some filters, tea bags and some indiv. packs of dry creamer, sugar, sweetener - excellent when arriving late at night from the east coast and not wanting to shop after the loooong trip. Think the little on site store was also closed that time of night

Don't forget that they will prestock any groceries you order (except alcohol) for a very reasonable fee.

We did come across a list during our last WKORV of special items (mostly at no charge) that can be obtained at the Front Desk. Binoculars were not one of them - but there were other useful things (which I can't recall at the moment - perhaps Robin can - her job).

If you are going to use both sides of the LO - consider doorstops. Also, duct-tape and popsickle stick to hold down button on sliding doors that turns off the AC.

We stop quickly at Safeway/FoodMart on our way to WKORV from OGG to pick up a few essentials - like beer...

I just stayed in a 2BR at WKORV-N. Neither side of the lockoff had binoculars, or salt and pepper.

Soap was replaced via a call to housekeeping, but the next time I go, I'll probably buy my own. Those little hotel-sized bars aren't worth the hassle.

I remember this list... I swear I've seen that list at the resort somewhere. Maybe in one of those booklets they have out.

Hi..

DeniseM solved the binocular mystery. I guess the last person who wrote the WKORV review was actually staying in a hotel. I think she is gonna try and get the review remove.

Am I the only one who finds this very odd? When I pm'd her about it she signed off immediately. She clearly knew she wasn't at the TS, so why write a review about it?

I just checked - she did log-on this morning, but didn't respond to my polite pm asking her how she liked the WKORV.... :D

Yes... maybe she was confused on the type of reviews that are done here. She should probably post it on tripadvisor because it is nice review of the Westin...

Binoculars

The Westin Maui has binoculars in the rooms (at least in the ocean front rooms). Maybe that is where the confusion is coming from.

Hi Pedro - Yes, in the situation we're discussing, the person who wrote the review stayed at the Westin Maui Hotel, but posted a review (of her hotel stay) in the TUG reviews for WKORV. So people who read the review, thought the WKORV had binoculars as well.

I got a pm from Julie and she said they were unable to attend the presentation because they didn't have childcare for her child, so they didn't visit the timeshare. I suggested to the review Mgr. that he add a note at the top of her review stating that this was her preview pkg. experience and that she stayed at the Westin Maui Hotel. That way it will be less confusing to people who might think she is describing the timeshare.
