Hi,
We had a small amount of points left over in HIVC for 2022. Considered paying the fee to extend $99.00 however , IHG was selling points so much cheaper than HICV so I bought the approximately same points and saved almost half the fee that HICV was charging. Best part is the points don’t expire and the value is equal to the HICV. If you have points expiring, go to IHG and you will pay less. Especially if you have a small amount of expiring points.
Happy New Year!

Just a note that in general the IHG points are rather less valuable than the HICV Points, I would only recommend banking the points with IHG if they would expire otherwise.

A normal hotel room is like 20k IHG points per night where some timeshare properties are only 40k per week for a similar size unit. I travel for work so have quite a lot of IHG points but only a few HICV points. Booking the HICV properties with IHG points are usually 35k+ IHG points a night for the smallest unit in the property with no way to book larger rooms with the IHG points (cash only)

IHG points are no where as valuable as HICV points

That’s why they cost less, I use them for nightly stays before or after timeshare vacations and if we need a night when traveling.

I thought of doing what was suggested in the original post, but my points were expiring that time. late last year. I thought we could only transfer points to IGH before October, or something like that.
