What happens if I don't pay "maintenance fees" on BlueGreens contract?

I know of a recent strange case where someone had their loan closed by Bluegreen for missing a few payments over the course of several years. And it happened pretty fast which surprised me since I see so many talking about how long it takes Bluegreen to take something back if someone stops making payments. In this case, a friend of ours who owns Bluegreen, had upgraded their account a couple of years ago to consolidate their multiple deeds. All was well until he had an illness and had to quit work for the better part of a year. He made most monthly loan payments but occasionally he had months when his expenses were higher and he was not able to pay. He would resume the following month but of course could not make a catch up payment in addition. So a few months ago he was cleared to start back to work, he had been in contact with Bluegreen for the whole time giving them a status and letting them know he could make his catch-up payments (about two months worth) once he started back in March. Well in March he tried to make his payment and nobody could find his loan. Eventually after multiple people looked into it, they discovered his account had been closed? And he had just spoken with them two weeks prior with his back to work update. At this point they said he would be given a case number and they would see about reinstating? So at this point he is in limbo waiting. Just thought his experience was an odd (and sad) one since he was paying most every month - just missed a few - and was keeping Bluegreen appraised of the situation the whole time. Very different than a person that just decides to walk away and not pay for months. So apparently Bluegreen doesn't distinguish between the two and isn't willing to work with people when it comes to this. And his maintenance fees were paid. I suspect they wanted his unit and knew he had bought years ago originally and wanted to resell the points at a higher cost. This all happened with virtually no notice - just found out when he called in to make his payment. So my feeling is there is no rhyme or reason as to how fast Bluegreen will take back an account that is unpaid for loan or maintenance fees. Seems like if it is something they want, they are very quick to act, almost stealthily in the background. And I do find it sad that customers that are trying and fall behind for a couple of scattered months are treated with very little empathy. Geeze, the home lenders are more willing to work with you for hardships.
