Last time I heard he was with Marriot in there timeshare dept. I miss all
the great information and help he provided to the group.
the great information and help he provided to the group.
he probably knows more than everybody else on the boards, combined, with perhaps a couple exceptions....always, always enjoyed his advice.
When you hear from him, let him know the Pig Farmer is still around.

can look up his recent post, then send him a PM and ask him, no?
use search option, then "advanced search", then enter "Fletch" and search.

Good to see Fern, Deb and a bunch of others here the whole time.

thanks buddy, haven't talked to you in a while either. Your too kind, accurate but too kind LOL. Actually in the olden days I was one of the main experts, it's good to see people who were newbies way back when, now, who are the experts themselves. My 5/2/1 rule put me on the map. With exceptions, that rule would probably have to be rewritten to 3/0/"they pay you" considering the economy LOL
Good to see Fern, Deb and a bunch of others here the whole time. Anyone here from Basil ? how about Maz ? Ken Hodl ? I know we lost Ken K a while back, what an awesome guy. Sunday night chats were a blast. Just got an email from Knobby that I still need to return. So many others I am forgetting...
Do you pretty much (own) all of Hilton head yet?
Fletch
I'm still here but not buying anything new these days. I always was cheap and enjoy the hunt of getting a good exchange. My kids still remember our dinner at the Chinese restaurant.![]()

ahhhh, it's an honor to have a post in the same thread as you, Your Excellency...... and I, too, sometimes miss the good ole days.....Some of the characters were entertaining, to say the least. And as a once-newbie who has stuck around, TUG has indeed been a long and winding road, but hopefully we all become wiser for the trip. Most of the timeshare principles discussed daily back then have held true to this day, and many of them can be attributed to you.
Now that you're "back", I think TUG should make "FLETCH" a Forum Category in the Forum Jump. We could learn more there than anywhere, and I would head there first.
Hope you're doing well, and happy wearing the mouse ears.....
I've always admired the Disney brand immensely, but as I've always said, to dance with Mickey, you need Minnie dollars.......
so, tune in here every now and then, ok..........and since you asked..... no, I don't own all of Hilton Head yet, but I do my share to stimulate the local economy, shall we say...... great to "hear your voice" again.....
Did not see this post until now. However I am happy to report that Mr and Mrs Fletch are doing well.
DW and I met up with the Fletch family down at Ocean Pointe. We went out to a great pizza joint "Hot Pie" downtown. A great time was had by all!
OMG, this is so strange! I was thinking about Fletch the other day.... I just bought another TS (resale), and I remembered Fletch's old 5-2-1 rule:
No more than $5,000 for a Red Week
No more than $2,000 for a Blue Week
No more than $1,000 for a White Week (I may have Blue & White confused)
It made me laugh because I paid well below the White Week rule for a enough points for a couple of anytime weeks each year. My how times have changed.
I really used to look forward to those Sunday night chats.
I too got rid of my Dik week.
Thanks for the walk down memory lane - good to know he's still around!![]()

Fifth District Rep. Melvin Henley says he will not be running for re-election in 2012 following four terms representing Calloway and part of Trigg County in Frankfort.
“I’ve always said nobody should stay in office more than eight years,” Henley told the Ledger & Times. “If I’m going to talk the talk I’m going to walk the walk. It has been a humbling experience and an honor to have served the Fifth House District, and I will continue to give my district 110 percent until my term ends in December, 2012.”
Henley, D-Murray, ran for his first term in 2004. He won the post defeating challenger Robert “Buddy” Buckingham and was subsequently re-elected for three additional terms.
During his tenure in Frankfort, Henley served and continues to serve on many committees including economic development, energy and tourism, transportation; elections, constitutional amendments and intergovermental affairs, state government, and a subcommittee of appropriations and revenue for budget review of post-secondary education. He also serves as co-chair, with Sen. Jack Westwood, of the state Capitol Projects Advisory Board.
Calloway Judge-Executive Larry Elkins said Henley has served Murray and Calloway County well.
“Melvin's had a long, distinguished career in public service,” Elkins said. “I have enjoyed working with him and wish he and Rita the best in their retirement.”
Murray-Calloway Economic Development Corporation President Mark Manning said Henley was instrumental in efforts to promote job growth.
“From my perspective in economic development, he has always put the interest of the community first when it comes to creating jobs. One of the main reasons I came to Murray was because Melvin and a few other leaders convinced me that it was the right thing to do,” Manning said. “When we got together to work on things like Pella, or expansions or the bridges, it always worked very, very well. My hope is that we can find someone, not to fill his shoes because he’s got a lot of experience, but someone that has the ability to take that position and grow into it and be a contributor back to the community like Melvin has been.”
His legislative colleague, First District Sen. Ken Winters, R-Murray, said Henley has accomplished much during his time in office and wished him well.
“ Rep. Melvin Henley has been a strong advocate for Murray and Calloway County and Murray State University during his term in office,” Winters said. “I wish him the very best in any future endeavors that he may become involved with.”
Henley, a U.S. Air Force veteran and Murray businessman, also served as mayor of the City of Murray from 1978 to 1982. He later became a chemistry professor at Murray State University where he served as chair of the chemistry department from 1987 to 1992. Previously, he served as visiting professor at the universities of Cincinnati, Memphis and Mississippi in the late 1960s and early 1970s.
While attending various colleges from 1955 to 1990, Henley attended the University of Nevada, Reno; and Valley College, San Bernardino, Calif., before graduating from MSU with a bachelor’s degree in math, chemistry and physics in 1961. He obtained a doctorate in chemistry and physics at the University of Mississippi in 1964 and a master of business administration and finance at MSU in 1990.
He has served as partner and financial consultant for Murray Industrial Warehousing and owner of the Homra-Henley Development Corp. Manufactured Home Communities (Fox Meadows and Coach Estates) since 1968.
In the Air Force, Henley served as the personnel sergeant major for the 62nd Air Rescue Squadron and auditor for the 8th Air Rescue Group.
