When you buy resale, do you get all the benefits the original owner had?...Like the ownership levels, perks included in those levels, etc?...Some have told me no, if you don't "belong to the club" you don't get the perks and some have told me if you have the points you get everything...This would have to do with the Holiday Inn Club Vacations with Orange Lakes....Any help would be greatly appreciated....Thank yo!

Edit, I missed that you were asking specifically about HICV....Apologies.

If by Orange Lake you mean any of the Orlando phases then the answer is upon resale, regardless of whether the owner bought as a points ownership or bought before the change to points and then paid a conversion fee to enroll into the HICV points, the unit becomes unenrolled in points and reverts back to a deeded week only. You would need to make a developer purchase from HICV usually reported to be in the $8000 range for something worth less than $1 if you go to resell to enroll the Orange Lake Orlando week.

There are a few HICV properties- Gatlinburg, Myrtle Beach and Wisconsin that do remain as points when transferred upon resale but the Perks associated with various levels are lost with resale.

I've been an Orange Lake owner for years and every time we go, they ask us to attend the "owner update" meeting. It's basically a huge waste of time as they try to sell you more weeks to convert for points at insanely high prices. We own two weeks at Orange Lake and they have been trying to convert us for as long as I can remember. I personally liked having the deeded weeks as it was something somewhat tangible as opposed to points which we did not care for. It's different for all, some people love the points and others, like myself, do not. Pro's and con's to each I suppose, but the buy in through the resort is astronomical. Since my wife and I have other family members that own at Orange Lake, we are in the process of looking into selling our weeks. TUG members have been very helpful in providing information to us.
