Good morning. I was planning a trip in Dec to Midtown 45, but that didn't work out due to some health issues and I have about 300K points just about to expire for 2024. Is there anything I can do with these points, except for travel? I'd imgaine it's too late to transfer or do anything, right? I'm looking for something to do locally in FL for a few nights to use up some of the points, but there isn't a lot out there. And the few things that I've found isn't a lot of points since it's small units. Any ideas? Thank you!

You can transfer to RCI and use for travel up to 2 years from deposit date.

You can also convert to pay for maintenance fees but my understanding is, the conversion rate sucks.

You can also convert to Wyndham Rewards points, but the conversion rate for this sucks more.

I've never done the "pay MF with points" thing, so I don't know offhand how bad it is. I just happen to know the conversion rate for WR points and it's 1000 CW points convert to 400 WR points. Which in my opinion, sucks.

Are any of these things better than losing points? Maybe, probably, but that's your call. If it was me, I would dump them into RCI.

I believe it is too late for reward points for everyone and converting to MF's would only be available if the OP was platinum or founders. If he is platinum or founders the better option that is still available would be to pay to move them forward to either next year or the following year.

I didn't realize that you had to be Platinum or Founders in order to convert points to MF, i'm silver and have never considered it, but also apparently I can't do it anyway.

And I also assumed that if they were Platinum we wouldn't be having this conversation because they can move points up to the last day of the use year.

You don't have to be Platinum or Founders to do it at all, but this late in the use year everyone else is past their deadline. The deadline for converting to MF is the same as the deadline for Points Deposit to a future year - so if you're able to use your points sometime in the next 2 years, IMO Points Deposit is by far the better value.

You can do it with next year's points just not ones that are expiring this month.

If you have some status levels, it expends the day to deposit your point into another year. I do not know if you have any status with Wyndham. I have VIPP and I get to the end of my calendar year to decide what to do with the points.

Thank you all SO much! You're the best. I just transferred the points to RCI. What a relief, I figured I was losing around $2,000 and really didn't want to go somewhere just not to lose the money.

You can deposit them in RCI.

Besides the exchange fee, is there anything else RCI charges when you deposit your points into RCI?

No RCI additional fees.

Some resorts may charge a "resort fee" ostensibly for use of facilities but those can apply to any RCI exchange.

Before you book a particular exchange you can see any extra fees. Some resorts have mandatory All inclusive fees, some have daily or weekly resort fees. If you book less than a full week, the resort may charge a housekeeping fee. Some Caribbean and European resorts can charge energy surcharges. Some places are required to collect taxes like occupancy taxes (Mexico and Hawaii for example).

The same way when you book Wyndham and click on the important information, you need to do the same with rci so you won't be surprised.

$299 exchange fee. That is a big add-on expense for exchanges.

Thank you. I have never use RCI before. But there is one non-Wyndham resort I like better than the Wyndham resorts in a certain resort area and I am considering using RCI to go there rather than the Wyndham resorts.
