My favourite cocktails really depend on where I am Vacationing.

Here’s my list so far (each new place I vacation to could expand this list)

Hawaii — Mai Tai
Mexico — Pina Colada
Italy — Expresso with a dash of chocolate Brandy
Continental US — Irish Coffee
Not a cocktail, but Bud light lime will do as well.
Philippines — Mango Sunrise
Japan — Sake.

When I’m not sure, just give me a nice rum and coke.

Whenever or wherever I land, I alway christen the holiday with a drink.

So, what’s your favourite cocktail? Hey, if you have a recipe of your favourite cocktail, that’s awesome.

If I'm going exotic it's a Tequila Sunrise. It's a drink my wife & I enjoyed when we were dating way back when. But, my go to cocktail is a Highball. Although whenever I run into a new to me bartender I have to explain to them how to make it, which is extremely simple: Ginger Ale & Whiskey.

Not much of a liquor drinker, but DW and I will enjoy a proper margarita in Mexico, or a Mai Tai in Hawaii. At home she will have an occasional glass of white wine and I prefer a local IPA.

Depends. At home, Gentleman Jack & Coke. If dining out, I like an Old Fashioned.

Mai Tai in Hawaii, blended Margarita with Mexican food, gin & tonic with other dining. I hate when Cliff gets a martini in a Mexican restaurant, just doesn't fit IMHO.

My favorite alcoholic drink is anything that is of such high quality that it can be consumed straight up.

At home I usually enjoy a good German style beer or a glass of wine. Occasionally, a hot summer day calls for a gin and tonic. But on vacation in St Martin, pina coladas are almost a daily treat!

My stomach doesn't tolerate alcohol much anymore so I have only one but with very good alcohol (very picky). I cannot drink wine anymore because of the sulfites. Sometimes I have my skinny margarita without the alcohol. None of that fruity, slushy stuff.

Rio - caipirinhas (made with Brazilian cachaca)
multiple locations in U.S. Mexico home - blood orange skinny margarita with 100% pure agave Silver Patron
NYC - vodka collins, or mojito
Hawaii - Mai Tai (must drink while watching a sunset, must have an umbrella, and slice of pineapple)
Germany/Switzerland - Pils
Asia - local beer

Summer- Margaritas
Winter- White Russians or Irish Cream
Anytime- white wine

I also love specialty martinis if I can get them.

It doesn’t matter where I am when I drink them. It’s the weather that determines it. Not that I haven’t had White Russians in the summer. Just go by how I feel.

Since you are in a colder part of the US, you should try this on a cold day and perhaps snuggled up to a warm fireplace.

Make one cup of Hot Chocolate, mix, and add 1/4 of the cup with Irish Creme....yummy.

My tastes vary and sometimes during different times of the year. During the summer I enjoy a nice gin and tonic but sometimes a nice cold beer. My go to beer is nothing fancy just a regular Miller. I do like a Longboard or a Big Wave here in Hawaii.
I really like Mai Tai’s but I was drinking a few Lava Flows here when the weather was really warm. Otherwise just give me a Jack Daniels and water.

In summer or in the Caribbean, a cold beer (although not really a cocktail) or a Margarita. In winter a Bloody Caesar or a Manhattan (with Crown Royal, not bourbon). My wife prefers a Gin and Tonic. We are certainly not restricted to those, but those are the cocktails we gravitate to most often.

I haven't had a drink in 4 or 5 years now but back in my (heavy) drinking days I used to like closing out my night with a Stinger or two. After a meal I liked to nurse a couple shots of Drambuie...

Rarely drink but when I do, I like a good Cosmopolitan or Lemondrop.

I can’t do fruit cocktails anymore. Plus I need to watch my girlish figure since I am Mom, nanny, playmate, referee to my broad of 5.....So Bloody Mary, esp spicy, or whiskey/scotch on the rocks. I only drink red wine at nice date night dinners.

I used to like the occasional Irish coffee or other coffe drink after a nice restaurant meal. Have pretty much given it up unless the occasion is so festive it cries out for one AND it doesn't matter if I don't sleep based on what we have planned for the next day. I'd say easily 2/3 of coffee drinks are made with real coffee no matter how much you beg and plead PLEASE make my drink with decaf. I can't even have a cup of regular at 8am -- I won't sleep that night. I also have to limit myself to one cup of decaf when we play cards at night -- there is just enough residual caffeine that two cups of decaf bother me at night.
