I came back from Myrtle Beach last night. We took our 11 & 13 year old grandson. The resort we had, though considered a Gold Crown, wasn’t all that great, clean, pools were small, room was dark and small! Next summer I’m taking 2 grandaughters! They will enjoy large beautiful pools and accommodations! I don’t want to return where we were last week😢. We normally go to Wyndham Ocean Boulevard but haven’t been there in a few years
Any new suggestions will be appreciated! And recent condition of Wyndham Ocean Boulevard.

Did you check the TUG2 reviews? They tend to give some info, though read the text and don't count on the number rating. I've only been to I think Worldmark Grand Palms and HGVC Ocean Enclave. If you want to be on the beach, Ocean Enclave was very nice units and had a decent pool. If you want more pools and space, Grand Palms was nice. Neither were small or dingy.

Do you mind sharing the resort name?

It's been awhile, but we really enjoyed Ocean Boulevard. Great for all ages, small but at least they have the lazy rivers! We enjoyed Fat Harold's (shag dancing), we let the teenagers run amock - but it's been awhile, not sure how'd I feel about that these days. Nice rooftop bars.

Wyndham OB is small? Four high rise towers? Multiple pools. If that’s small I’d love to know what your idea of big is LOL.

We were at Wyndham ocean boulevard last month
We stayed in tower 2
Very clean updated
They were redoing a pool area but there was another one open
Excellent service
Convient location

Sorry - I meant specifically small lazy rivers (and I'm comparing those to Bonnet Creek and Ocean Walk). Agree overall, lots of pools and things to do, all towers, we like tower 4 pool area as well.

Absolutely Marriott Ocean Watch! Was there last week. Lots of pools, hot tubs, a splash area, a slide, a kiddy pool, a waterfall, an indoor pool. LOTS of activities: campfire, a beautiful play area tree house, bocce ball, corn hole, shuffle board, sports court, pool, ping pong, foosball (all free), an activities center where there are usually a number of things each day....some paid some free. Nice easy access to beach. Snack & bar areas. Units are all 2 bedrooms (K/QQ) with 2 full baths, they are clean and well equipped. People friendly.

We are currently at Club Wyndham SeaWatch and it seems nice enough. Seven pools, two of them being indoor. There are also two lazy rivers. While there seems to be a lot of units, it sits on a compact plot of land, so it isn't a long walk to go anywhere on the property. The 1BR unit we are in seems like it has been recently renovated.

Our favorite is Marriott’s Ocean Watch, especially off-season months.
Exactly why we bought two resale weeks there many many years ago. Also owned a studio at Sheraton Broadway that was a power trader with great MF. We finally gave it to a friend when we purchased a second home in NMB. We still have our two MOW weeks only because they have been such strong rental units.

I bet the pictures advertised looked wonderful. Did you look at any sites for reviews?

I couldn’t find any reviews on the resort and it is a Gold Crown! I don’t think I’ve ever slept on a worse mattress😫

That stinks......I bet the floor would have been better

Write a review on TUG :)

Don’t rely on RCI ratings, Gold Crown could have been about location or a kiddie pool.

My fave also. It’s North Myrtle Beach which maybe some folks bringing kids wouldn’t like for proximity to non-beach attractions. There is indoor pool, activities center, etc but this is not a plush resort. I like it for being quiet area with less people and neon.

I don’t book it if it’s not ocean front building one. Not sure how easy that is to get via exchange, though.

I kept trying to figure out how that resort got Gold Crown! I did call Hilton and talked to them. They said some people actually like it because of where they are located.

Definitely read reviews and search for videos on YouTube.

We love Sheraton Broadway Resort. It's now managed by Marriott and received a recent update. The units are beautiful. The pools are exceptional. RCI always has units available over a year out. Or you can rent something. If you go in April, you can get an exchange easily, I would think.

How do you get to the beach? Do you drive and is there adequate parking at the beach?

Must drive to beach, at least for us. Parking is always at a premium when talking about beach access. Plug it into google earth and check it out. Easiest way to beach is straight down 29th St.
