Looking to purchase a Whale Pointe fractional unit. Any advice out there? Are you selling one? Do you know about any units available or likely to be available in the near future?

We thought about buying a Whale Point fractional. A guy named Dave sold these and others like the Seaside Residence Club in 2015 when I was looking. I was thinking of buying this to enhance our Worldmark memberships as both converted to Worldmark Credits back then. I was doing this credit conversion with Eagle Crest and the resort was sold and conversion rules changed. After that I wasn't sure I wanted to try out another.

You can call Whale Point and ask where Dave is or try whalepoint1@gmail.com

Thanx Bill, I appreciate this information. We also own WorldMark and spend many of our points coming to Depoe Bay and thought a fractional would make some sense.

His name is Dave Carlson, and his phone number is 541-961-8414. We bought a 2 BR fractional in 2018 in Phase 1 (unit 305). We found our selller via a Facebook group, and Dave did the paperwork. At that time, he had 5 - 10 other units available. It was a great fit for us, living a 2.5H drive away, especially once the pandemic hit. We have not missed one of our weeks yet, even though we know we could turn it in for WM points >45 days in advance or easilyrent it on our own.

It kind of dose and doesn't make sense in a way depending on how much it cost and how you plan to use it. If you get a two bed unit, the hoa fee is almost $900 a week and your weeks rotate through the different seasons. With a WM membership you pay about $800 for the two bed unit in mf and can go multiple weeks in red season.

For me it made sense to just buy more WM and reserve the season I like which is only summer in July and August. You can pick up a 40,000 credit WM account for very little these days and the WM mf on 40,000 credits is about $3200 a year versus the fractional hoa fee of $3600 a year for a fractional one week per season.
