I know that this has come up before, but I cannot believe the amount of time it takes for Wyndham to recognize you as a new owner once they receive your deed, etc.

I received my deed from the sellers on August 28. It was sent certified mail and the seller noted that they had also sent a copy of it certified to Wyndham at that time.

When I contact Wyndham, they claim that they received it on September 27 and that it will take 6-8 weeks to process. What a joke. I suppose it was sitting in a pile somewhere for a month before it even entered their system. Meanwhile, I am checking every week on it to try to ensure that it isn't just sitting around again and all they can tell me is that it takes 6 - 8 weeks.

I would like the name of the person who is working on it so I can make sure it's progressing. Ugh!!! Such incompetence for a business of this size.

No question here. Just venting:)

P.S. I know that as a resale purchaser, I am not a priority. No need to tell me that;)

I had a similiar issue on my first contract. I called a few times asked what did I have to do to move it along? Then said I'm calling every day until it was done.......suprise to me the next Monday it was done. Then my next contract I bought resale and had them transfer the pts for 2008 and 2009 into my account, so I really don't care how long that one takes.

Good luck

Sorry to hear that...it didn't take me very long, but I did already own with them. Just hang in there and be ever persistent.

They lay off some people, so it will be longer.

Call few times to make sure everything is O.K. I have situation where father gives to son, and never bother to inform the resort, and situation where there is uncleared balance. They have seperate operation to check the payment and title, that cause it slower.

dont buy the "weeks" comments. Wyndumb will take months. My purchase in Jan 08 took over 5 months.

I bought a resale week (not points) in Newport off ebay. It only took about 6 weeks after the escrow company mailed the deed for Wyndham to recognize me as the owner in their systems...Maybe weeks are faster than points?

Yes. Since week don't really go through all the set up process.

But make sure you did receive the bill.
