Westin Nanea Question

I just made an exchange into the Westin Nanea in Maui. From what I can tell, Westin is owned by Marriott. Should I be able to add my reservation to my Marriott account on the Marriott website? I have tried entering the confirmation number on their website but it doesn't seem to recognize it. In the past I have exchanged into the Marriott Ko' Olina and the Marriott Waiohai and adding them to my Marriott account allowed me to enter my room preferences. Just hoping for an option to do the same here. I know I have a resort view room but would like to put in a request for a non-parking lot view.

Yes you can add your Bonvoy number, but there is an issue currently that is producing an error message. It is also possible that if you just made the reservation today or in the last couple of days that it isn't in your name with Marriott yet. If you made the reservation several days ago, try using the Bonvoy mobile app to add it to your trips. This is also being discussed in another thread on the Marriott forum. Any view requests will need to be made directly with the resort a couple weeks ahead of checkin. Though I don't know if Nanea really has parking lot views unless you booked a 1BR.

The entire street side of the resort faces their parking garage - on the map below, that's bldg. 3, 5 & 6, at the top of the map. I would request a high floor and a pool or lagoon view, which will put you on the inside of the resort.

Westin are terrible at messing up you getting ENCs and points for spend on resort, so ensure that your Bonvoy number is on the folio at checkout and don't leave without a copy of the folio. Spend a small amount at the resort if needed to have a folio. Enjoy

I’ve exchanged into Nanea multiple times and they definitely have 2br units with parking structure views. We always request an inner courtyard unit but one of the times they put us in a unit facing the parking structure. Immediately on checking in we requested a room change but they were only able to accommodate the following day. All this to say; if you do end up facing the road don’t be afraid to ask for an alternative room.

Good to know. Thank you!

We just returned from the Westin Nanea. Such an incredible resort! I had to call Marriott to get my MR# added.

It was our second consecutive week in Maui, so we arrived about 10am. We expected to do pre-check-in and not be able to get into a room until the afternoon, but the front desk gave us a choice of three different units (one of which was already read). He showed us pictures from the lanai of each. We chose a “lagoon view” on the first floor of building 7 (the unit that was available), which actually had a fair view of the ocean and very easy access to the pool and grill area.

Snorkeling was great from the beach. Many fish and a turtle. It was INCREDIBLE at Black Rock about a mile away, where we saw tons of fish, turtles, and even stingrays.

How are you putting in your request? I can't find a "chat" on the app. Are you calling? How far ahead?
Thank you.

You make your request on the Vistana Villa finder. Click on the link to the right of the reservation and then click SPECIAL REQUEST

Hi Denice,
I can only access my reservation in II and in the Marriot website/app. I don't know how to see it on Vistana Villa finder.

You'll only be able to access it via the Vistana Ville Finder if the reservation was made directly through Vistana. Won't work for II exchanges.

Sorry, I didn't realize it was an exchange - you will have to call the front desk, but realistically speaking, as an exchanger, you are low on the totem pole for special requests. If you have the 8-digit Marriott number, you should be able to put in a request on the Marriott reservation finder.

There is no such thing as a Marriott reservation finder. At least not for II reservations and the one for Marriott Club Point reservations doesn't have anything to put in requests. You also can't add a request on Marriott.com. For those types of reservations, it is best to contact the resort directly.

Correction - it's the Look Up a Reservation page: I had 2 WKORV exchanges last year, and I used this page to add the II exchanges to my Bonvoy Acct. and add a special request. You used to be able to enter the II number, but now I think you have to have the actual Marriott number. I know there have been some Marriott changes, but at this moment, it's still working for me:

Thanks. I see that too for reservations that are in my Bonvoy account. Unfortunately for some reason I can't look up reservations that aren't already in there at this time due to an error message I get. Though I can add them via the app and then go in to Marriott.com. I wonder if this box is effective for villa requests. I've never used it. One of mine is actually prefilled with "TO CHANGE OR CANCEL THIS RESERVATION PLEASE CALL MVCI PLA". Though the reservation is actually through II.

It works for me.

You can delete this and enter your own message, of 45 characters or less: "TO CHANGE OR CANCEL THIS RESERVATION PLEASE CALL MVCI PLA." Plus use the check-list above.
