I was attempting to book a 1 bedroom at Baja Point in June but it always shows no availability.
I went on the Marriott website and it appears that there are 9 available in the 1st week of June and they are asking about $120 a night. If you look at the staroptions chart you would need 95,700 for that same week. it would seem to me that those options are probably worth twice what you would pay at $100 a night ...am I missing something? Are the units not comparable?

We prefer to stay at Baja Point. It’s quieter and there always pool side chairs available. It’s an easy walk to the main hotel. Villas have hot tubs on the corner of the balcony with breathtaking views. Definitely an overlooked gem.

You are missing something. It’s different inventory.

The inventory on the Marriott hotel site is not the same inventory that is (or isn’t) available for booking via StarOptions. For example, if someone exchanges their week for Bonvoy points, then Marriott controls their week for that year, and will rent it out for cash. Inventory owned by the developer might be rented out via Marriott's site.

i think Baja Point was pretty much sold out when it become part of Vistana, so not a lot of it becomes available for StarOptions booking. Only if a Baja Point owner decides to use a different Vistana resort and not use their home resort would their week become available for other owners to book.

Would you recommend certain buildings at Baja Point? We reserved a 3 bedroom lockoff and am hoping for good ocean views so was going to try making specific building request. And am assuming top floor would be best?

Building 1, 2, 5, or 7; in that order. Top floors are better, but the balcony roofs are pergola style at the top floors. We were in building 1 when we stayed there, and fantastic view!

Just to tag on here about Baja Point - we just returned two days ago, and we attended an owner's update, first time at that location, and we stayed in the Westin complex, but spent our pool time at Baja Point. Almost everyone we saw come in had been there for many years, the team at the owner's pool was fantastic, and we definitely want to go back. We've looked for resales but haven't seen any, and we toured the unit, loved them. Good luck.
