I have currently purchased a Westgate Lakes resale timeshare and have not heard anything in 3 months, When asked about updates this is the response:

The ruling is pending a call from the sellers to Developer Services confirming the terms of the sale. We should be hearing back very soon.
Is that normal for them?

Are you sure you want it to go through?

Stories here on TUG say that Wastegate strips all perks from resales. You can only use the deeded week, any exchanges into other resorts are at last minute, and more. I don't think I'd want a Wastegate resale at any price.

Good Luck!

Who is the seller? Can you just get a refund?

At this point, if it were me, I would be willing to lose whatever (hopefully small) amount of money I had in the deal.

I agree wholeheartedly --- and IMO "at any price" would even include absolutely free, with all closing costs paid by the seller.

The onerous restrictions and limitations of a Westgate resale purchase would become apparent only after closing. Unless this particular transaction involves a quality time period deeded fixed week which the OP specifically wants and intends to use each year, exactly as is, I recommend utilizing the opportunity to not proceed to closing and regard the unexplained delay as a sign and a gift from above.

The unexplained delay could possibly be ROFR related, but a 3 month delay seems unreasonable and excessive even then.

I have no money in it. Ebay purchase for a $1.00

Then my advice would be to send them a letter/email indicating that appropriate time to complete the transaction has passed and you consider the contract invalid. That is, if you had a contract. If you had a contract, perhaps read the contract to see if there are any terms that indicate time is of the essence or when closing should happen.

No money is exactly what a Wastegare resale is worth. Junk, whether it's free junk or "junk for a buck", is still just junk and would become an expensive and frustrating experience thereafter. You would then become the next person looking to unload it for a dollar.

THe problem is that the $1 may put them in a binding contract, meaning if they just ignore it and write off the $1 it could still result in the timeshare at some point in the future being transferred into their name.

An astute and excellent point if the OP has actually paid any "consideration" and signed a contract. If so, and specific performance timelines are identified therein but already passed, that's a welcome gift on which to now capitalize. In any case, it would be wise to close this door, formally and permanently, before becoming (...yet another) unhappy and regretful Westgate resale timeshare owner.
