Inside my Westgate owner's portal I see this message that I circled in green...just want to make sure I am not missing anything...can someone please help me understand what this refers to?

Not a Westgate owner, but my understanding is that they're talking about daily resort fees that may be charged if it's not deeded home resort usage.

and my guess was it meant you would not have any lock off fees if you used the entire unit at one time.

True. I completely missed the "total" part of the wording.

Hi @The Colorado Kid
[Are you the original owner or resale ?]

I agree with @tschwa2 - if you use as a 2 bedroom there is no lock- off fee.

Here is a thread from Dec. 2018 in which @DrQ posted the 2018- 19 fees for both developer and resale. The fees are generally higher for resale. @DrQ also explains how Westgate Seasons work - as I see your ownership is listed as value season.

Wow, that was a blast from the past

I only deal with Westworld^H*H^H^H^Hgate once a year to deposit my week into RCI. Because of the unique status of the resort (Westgate, RCI affiliation, weeks only resort) I can convert that week into 90,000 HICV points for $75.

That alone was worth the developer cost to convert our Silverleaf membership to HICV points as the Westgate was going to waste every year up until then.

Book your week at your home resort, avoid split weeks, avoid lockoff split, and avoid deposit = $0 addl fees.

@The Colorado Kid - that is a resort I wish I had, only stayed there once on a cash stay and loved it. This is an area we travel to a couple of times a year and often getting spanked on hotels, , one of the few places in the area that is pet-friendly. I would to love to hear your experience with it especially if it is a re-sale. Honestly would love to here any real world user experience, from booking, to check-in- checkout, how MFs are paid-heck if I missed any post on setting up the account ect let me know.

Before anyone gets in a snit- I am not looking to purchase - but interested in seeing how it works and if it can be worked to an owners satisfaction….For what it’s worth I would love to here accounts of exchanging into Westgate. They have a well deserved bad reputation as far as sales/resales, but past that information is kinda lacking. From my point of view almost all “clubs” sales pitches are high pressure and very few resales have zero restrictions. IMO accounts of others first hand experience is important in making an informed decision when entering into any timeshare system especially resale.
