Feeling extremely lucky tonight on snagging a reservation at the Marriot Village d'ile de France in late September 2024. This is our first Abound reservation and wanted next October but a few days in September were available instead, so we snagged it. We are executive level in the new system. Looking for advise and recommendations please.

Hey, you'll have a terrific time there. There are quite a few entries on this site about experiences there, including some posts of mine. I learned a whole lot from others before going there, and it really helped us. The proverbial message from most is this: Wake up early enough to get to the small market on the grounds and get the chocolate croissants while they're warm. You won't regret it.

Assuming you have not been to Paris, I would recommend you look at Trip Advisor for their best rated activities. It is through this site that we found guided tours to Monet's home, Opera Garnier, Montmarte, street art near Belleville, Versailles and other very, very fascinating locales. Public transport is easy to use in the entire area.

I respectfully disagree, don't take public transport if you can! Paris is so beautiful I love walking everywhere when I am there. Easily put in 28,000 steps per day!

Just a heads up...
If you want a full week, Marriott's Village d'Ile-de-France is normally available via Interval International (including getaways) for September and October stays.

NOTE: If you become a TUG member (instead of a Guest), you'll be able to view historical II sightings available to members only (link).

Well, yes you can walk many places, and I too have had 30,000 step days, but it would be a big one to walk to Versailles or to Monet's house... Especially from the timeshare!

It is a really lovely resort, but it is not in Paris. It is near Paris Disney, about an hour (by car or train) outside of Paris.

Too far and inconvenient way to see Paris.

I would not agree with that. The transit ride into downtown Paris was 45 minutes, and the trains ran every ten minutes or so. Riding back offered the three of us a nice break. We've stayed in Paris before and enjoyed it, this trip we saw more than the city, and plenty of Paris. Hell, in any city even as big as Pittsburgh it can take us 45 minutes to drive to drive into town and park. What you probably don't want to hear is that they're having a huge bedbug infestation problem in Paris, people are finding them everywhere. https://www.cbsnews.com/news/paris-bedbugs-france-infestation-hotels-homes-even-trains/

Unless I want to spend anytime in the Disney park, there is no reason to stay at this resort. I would much rather use Bonvoy points and stay in Paris.

When we've stayed, we've used it as a base to explore both Paris (2 days via train), Disney Paris 1 day, Provins (medieval town) by bus from Disney Paris (nice ride thru countryside and small villages), and some day trips with a 3 day car rental on the other days: Meaux for fabulous WWI museum, Fontainebleau, and Vaux le Vicomte chateaux. If I primarily wanted Paris most days, I agree, not the most convenient. But if you add a few days elsewhere, then I'd still stay there. The resort is wonderful.

From what I've heard, you're about 30-45 minutes outside Paris but that there's a train or bus. I wouldn't drive into the city. So much to do, the Louvre, Musee D'Orsay, Versailles, Sacre Couer, Montmartre, Sainte-Chapelle. There a hop on/hop off bus that will point out things of interest. I wouldn't bother with Paris Disneyland. You'll have a great time.

Got notice from Interval my deposit first request matched a couple days ago. Got a three bedroom for 9/1-9/8. We are big Disney fans so a few of the days will be spent in the Parks. Lots of great suggestions here and other threads of things to do on non-park days. TUG is the best!

It is definitely an hour train ride into the city of Paris but don’t let that discourage you. The areas around Paris are definitely worth seeing too. My suggestion is to add a few nights in Paris at either end to accomplish the night time Paris activities ( dinner, city lights, ect) but the resort is lovely. The countryside of France is gorgeous and a whole other experience than just the city. A quick trip to Reims, Epnay, and Champagne region of France are easy from the resort. Those patchwork hills lined with wineries, hot air ballon ride, Champagne tastings, the Reims Cathedral, all a huge part of France cannot be missed

That's a surprise the Paralympics are still on that week. Not sure what it will do for sightseeing in Paris, public transport should be working well, but certain areas might be more busy than usual.
Great time of the year to be in that area of France.

Agree. Went to Reims yesterday, such a vibrant and diverse city. From the amazing champagne wineries to the bustling downtown, with its Notre Dame Cathedral de Reims. If all one wants to do is spend time in Paris, then the MVC is probably not a good choice. If you want to explore (we have been to multiple small towns with their own flavor), MVC is a great launching pad. Add to it the 2BR for a full family which is a huge bonus you won't get in the city.

Stay on top of possible strikes...seems to happen there frequently
