My understanding is a Hyatt legacy and/or portfolio owner can only book the old Welk through Interval. Do Hyatt owners have any priority when booking a Welk through Interval? Or is it just a reduced exchange fee? I guess I have to wonder what the point of joining the two clubs was unless the intent is to eventually combine the two like Marriott and Vistana?
 
You are correct about having to go through II if you're a "Hyatt legacy and/or portfolio owner". Well...not sure about the portfolio owner as I'm not one of them.

As far as priority and exchange fee, I would suggest calling Hyatt.

And yes, they keep saying that they will ultimately merge Hyatt and Welk.
 
There is no priority, but you do have a discounted exchange fee of $199.

I was at a Marriott Owner’s update and the sales person hinted at an eventual merger with the MVC system.

Yeah, we've heard that several times over the years. It's pretty much bunk. Even the CEO of Marriott Vacations has said it wouldn't happen.
