Asking for a friend- she owns a gold week and a week 51 at the Surf Club. Wants a week 52 but of course they’re Plat plus at the Surf Club so even resale weeks command high prices. So she’s considering a week at the Ocean Club, since weeks 51 and 52 are Platinum.
So a few questions:
- with owning 3 weeks which could be booked consecutively, how likely will she be to secure a week 52 at the Ocean Club? Obviously calling at the initial release date and time.
- current resale prices for Platinum OV and Pjat OF weeks at the Aruba Ocean Club?
Feel free to message me if you’d rather not post
- I haven’t bought for many years. Best resale brokers/sites other than EBay and Redweek to contact/look at?

As Surf Club owners we’re both very familiar with the resort differences, and I’m familiar with resale OV prices but not as much with OF prices. I think OV prices are pretty comparable at the 2 resorts but not sure about OF, which are more limited at the Surf Club
Thanks for your advice!

Just offering my personal booking experience. It's very difficult to reserve week 52 for the 2 bedrooms at the ocean club. I bought the week earlier this year. I tried at 13-month (almost at 14-month because I have other weeks) and was told the only date available was 12/23/22 (no availability for 12/24, 25 or 26). Tried exactly at 12-month mark, no dice either. Ended up booking the week 51. My suggestion is to buy a fixed week 52 surf club week.

I'd just buy the Platinum Plus week and be guaranteed the week though you still have to compete for check in day.

That’s another option but they’re looking for a lower cost alternative.
Any feedback on what the week 52s are at the SC?

No, other than as mentioned above, it is very difficult to reserve even using the 13 month window. That's why I suggested simply buying the option that at least guarantees the week. IMO it would be a mistake buying OC with the expectation of securing week 52 routinely even with the 13 month option and 2 additional weeks lead in. Week 51 Garden View at SC was $54100 retail in November. I don't know how many weeks you'd have to string together to "guarantee" access to week 52 but I know there are quite a few that own more than 10-15 weeks and do this.

Another thought is to try to use just points to get that time, likely as good or better chance than getting OC then, esp if doing 2 week on points with week 52 being the end of the time.

That would surprise me. I think most who reserve the week 52 use or rent for $$$, and since there will never be any in the trust I’d assume they’d rarely be available with points.

I've reserved it on points and gotten it on exchange previously. IMO one benefit would be the flexibility of points if you didn't get the reservation.

I think 3 weeks wont be enough to secure a week 52 at the OC. A few owners who owns many weeks book a very large portion of those weeks 52 and 1. And yes they put many on the rental market after...
