Please help!

My daughter's wedding has been cancelled (don't ask) and there are two weeks reserved through II for the honeymoon in Hawaii.

Is anyone familiar with II policy regarding refunds on cancelled exchanges?

Thank you.

Sorry to hear about the wedding. Hope your daughter is doing okay.

If the dates are more than 60 days in the future, you'll receive replacement weeks good for one year only. Trading power should be roughly the same as the original weeks' trading power.

Once you get past the 60 day mark, your replacement week is limited to flexchange trades only. I think you have up until the 14-day mark to cancel, but double check. You should be able to find the full details on II's website ... look around for the membership agreement, terms and conditions, or something like that.

Good luck!

Also, no refund on exchange fees, II keeps those.

Surprise Vacation ?

Sorry the wedding plans blew up. Small consolation I know, but at least it happened before the nuptials instead of after the couple tied the knot.

Same thing happened to the daughter of a friend of ours -- minus the Hawaii timeshare reservation. Invitations had been sent, hall had been hired, caterer had been paid, the whole shot. Then, BLOOEY ! Unfortunate for sure, but possibly not as bad as if they'd gone through with it then decided afterward it was all wrong, I don't know.

In the recent Sex & The City movie, something similar happens to the main babe -- on her wedding day after she was already in her gown at the site of the ceremony, no less. The luxury honeymoon suite at the exclusive Mexican resort was already booked & paid for. So, rather than see it go to waste, the main babe & 3 of her friends headed on down south of the border for a little consolation vacation at the tropical honeymoon villa.

In this case, if the would-be bride & her friends aren't up for a surprise vacation in Hawaii, how about a luxury timeshare vacation in Hawaii for the parents of the bride ?

I agree, go party in Hawaii, take one for yourselves and have your daughter take some girlfriends to relax.

I am so sorry that this has happened to your family

A co worker had this happen but it was for a cruise and she went with her girlfriends. Not everyone would be able to do this as we all handle things in our own way.

This also happened in my brother's family twice in the last four years.

Ok that just blew away the details about Sex in the City movie.

Don't you want to know what happens after that ?

Who hooks up with whom ?

Whether the main babe gets back together with the main guy ?

Whether everybody lives happily ever after ?

You can also retrade each of the weeks for anything available on line in II for any eligible date before or after the original exchange. You still pay the exchange fee twice, but you don't have to worry about a replacement week (that could trade way worse than original deposit if you are close to travel date of original deposited unit).

Thanks for all the supportive posts, not to mention details of the new film. Because friends already booked airfare to come to NY from London and Callifornia for the wedding, my daughter will have to stay local for that first week.

But maybe the second week in Hawaii will tempt her to go with a few friends . . . if the airfare weren't so high.

Loved the idea of sending the parents!!
