Does anyone have information on Water's Edge Resort in Westbrook, Ct. There is available units in March that we are looking at but all the reviews are very old. Thank you for any info.

It's the former Bill Hahn's resort, on Long Island Sound.

I haven't seen the units themselves; they're on a hillside sloping down to the water. March in Connecticut means days in the '30s-'40s and nights around freezing, and it might be rainy. There's not much of tourist interest in the area, apart from a good outlet mall in nearby Clinton, and some seafood restaurants most of which stay open year-round.

It's about 100 miles from New York City and about 130 miles from Boston. And it's about 30 miles (minutes) from the two big Indian casinos, Mohegan Sun and Foxwoods, and about 60 miles (minutes) from Newport, Rhode Island.

Hope that helps.

I actually own at Water's Edge but have never seen the unit because we bought it to exchange. We do use the pools though. The indoor pool is nice in the winter. There is also a hot tub and a workout room. I haven't eaten in the restaurant for years but hear the food is good. There are a lot of weddings there but I'm not sure about that time of year.

As far as tourist sites. Mystic CT is about 35-40 minutes away.

Mohegan Sun and Mashantucket Pequot reservations/casinos are about the same distance away.

Peaceful time at the Water's Edge Resort

Hi Florine,

My husband and I spent a wonderfully relaxing week at the Water's Edge Resort last year in January and had a very nice time. The bedrooms are well sized with a fireplace in the living room area which is very nice. The kitchen area is VERY small, so I gather most people eat out. If you are able to get a nice unit facing the ocean it will top the experience. The sunday brunch may be considered a bit pricey but is quite diverse and all you can eat. More importantly the brunch itself is EXCELLENT and is definitely not to be missed. We have considered driving in from the city on Sunday just to relive that wonderful gourmet experience. Also, the restaurant itself, surrounded by the large windows that provide beautiful views out to sea and the thoughtful service make this a sublime experience. We sat there for hours taking our time tasting different dishes and just enjoying the peace and the surroundings.

The area itself is very quiet during that time of the year, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Hope this helps...

Blessings,
