Hello, I have been contacted by Warner Travel Company that has expressed an interest in renting my unused Vidanta weeks. They mentioned that the title company they utilize is DLE Escrow company. Is anyone familiar with either of these companies? Not sure if this is a common scam but I would appreciate any insight into identifying scams besides a) requests for upfront cash or fees or b) if it is too good to be true............ Thanks!

The game is that they need you to remit some money for rental taxes or something like that, up front. After they receive your money, you don't hear from them again.

If they cold called you, it is 100% a scam.

As others have said, there is no doubt that this is a scam.

Warner Travel Company’s website was created September 2019. Just like a couple of other scammer websites I have identified, their website was registered in Reykjavik, Iceland. A little unusual for a company supposedly located in Oklahoma, don’t you think?

If that wasn’t enough, Warner stole the whole website look from www.myriadmarketing.com, a legit company whose website was created in 1997. The verbiage is the same too.

Compare Warner and Myriad websites.

this scam is reported at least once a week on this site and on the Interval International Community forum.

Sometimes they don't ask directly for an upfront fee. They might start by emphasizing that they don't ask for an upfront fee but that they will take their fee out of the proceeds of the sale. Of course, what happens is that later they tell you that the sale is in place. Then, when you're all excited about this potential pay day, they tell you that you, the seller, have to pay a certain fee or tax in order to finalize the transfer and paperwork.
