Diamond moving to Hilton
I have completely decided to walk away from my maintenance dues with Hilton. After great input from those on this forum, it is the best thing to do. I am not looking for information or reasons not to. I will be letting you all know how it goes. I do not owe any on the original purchase am just paying maintenance now. Let the adventure begin!!!!!

good luck, and do let us know how it goes!

It might take a few years. When you get your first collection telephone call from HVC/DRI or a Collection Agency tell them you want all Communications to be by letter. Thereafter ignore all Communications - email, Letters, etc. If the Company has any of your Credit Cards registered with HVC/DRI cancel the Card.

What do you actually own?

Thank you for the tips!

Wow! Is that close to five weeks?
It is and we have used it mostly in the past. Now with coming into Hilton from Diamond with are the step children and do not have any of the booking perks so are not as able to book places. Truly, I am done traveling and what I want to do will cost me a great deal less then $20,000. We are going to use the private listing sites on this site to travel in the future.

So you were Platinum with DRI with all the Benefits of a Platinum Ownership. These are all retained after Hilton's entry and becoming the Developer/Overlord for DRI. UNLESS you made the mistake of buying into MAX. Buying into MAX is a new Contract that replaces your original Contract with DRI and all your Platinum Benefits go away.

With $20,000 in your pocket you can visit your local travel agent and come up with some excellent travel options. IMHO.

that's nearly $0.36 MF/pt.! that's about the highest i've heard. many that search for resale deeds to purchase in HGVC look for $0.10 MF/pt. good luck with your exit strategy, and future travels.

From what I have heard from others, they will attempt to notify yo for about 2 years via any method they can. It is best to scrub your online account of any contact info if you can. From several sources, after about 2 years they get the picture.

If you ever served in the military, check out Armed Forces Vacation Club. No cost to be a member, only pay for the vacations you want.
