We are staying at our Waiohai week right now. What’s really weird is that we received no pre-arrival outreach from any TS sales staff, no blinking messages on our phone to come to a presentation… nothing. It’s very odd. I’d love to know what we did, so we can tell everyone how this was accomplished. We did UNenroll a week from the points program, since we never swap into anything and ~$250/year buys a dinner. Maybe that was it?

More likely they met their targets and don't need to do more bodysnatching

To the OP, maybe, that is your Christmas gift from the resort. LOL

It could be because you unenrolled your week. They see it as you being uninterested in the points program. Why try and pitch it if you already tried it and dropped out.

We were there in early November. No change in our status yet pre-call and no presentation offered. Of course, I was SOOOO disappointed! Maybe it's because I have consistently told them I was not going to buy but they always said it was to "update" me on the program and then tried the hard sell to no avail.

You can always ask at the desk to see if they have offers.

I'm at Maui now and got my owner's discount card and the lady tried to convince me to do a presentation. I wasn't interested and she looked up my account and said "Oh, your last 4 purchases were resale, you're not eligible". Then told me about the new great hotel partnership program and if I wanted to learn more I could stop by the sales office without incentive. I thought yeah let me sprint there I can't wait. 🤣

Maybe they're getting smarter with marketing?

We were there in May (on the 2nd leg of our Hawaii trip, first was Ko'Olina). We were offered a presentation at Ko'Olina but not Waiohai. We are ALWAYS offered a presentation so not sure what happened. LOL

Could be that some of the salespeople are taking a break over the holidays.

We were there in October. We were offered a presentation, which we accepted. We arrived right on time, met the nice young lady, and told her immediately that we were only interested in purchasing a promotional package. She looked at our info, and ten minutes lasted we left with our Visa/Amex card (can’t remember which), and our promotional 5 night package. Out in less than 15 minutes.

What 5 night package does Marriott offer, I do owners updates where I stay… which are primarily Hilton’s, Bluegreen, Wyndham and Westgate. I’m getting ready to stay at a Marriott for the first time. Want to know my options … please and thanks

This is likely an Encore Package. At the end of a timeshare presentation they have someone come in and take a "survey". They don't really care about your opinion on anything, it is really just to try and find out if you plan to return and they will push a package on you to come back again. Usually 5 days 4 nights for about $1000. Though prices vary depending on where the stay will be. When you travel and stay on the Encore Packages it requires another timeshare presentation.

No invitation to a presentation at Grande Vista, first time! Happy to not go to one. Maybe it's because I did one at Lakeshore at the beginning of November.

Over the years there have been times were we hadn’t been approached for an owners update, but it’s been few and far between. I never know if it’s that the sales department doesn’t have enough slots to fill., the sales dept feels we don’t meet their particular demographics or maybe they just don’t have a sales staff at all.

The two previous stays at Custom House we weren’t asked to attend a presentation. This last time we were offered but for a very small offer. We typically are never offered a presentation in Branson. Branson has no sales staff. This past month when we were there on a short stay they offered us a virtual presentation. Sometimes when we have several stays booked close together one will skip the update offer. I don’t recall being offered at Newport Coast, which surprised me, but we were offered at in San Diego that same trip. Other years like this one we seem to get offered at every destination, but always different amounts.

There just never appears to be a rhyme or reason to it. Small offer, big offer, no offer you just never know.

I think ours was $900 for a 5 night stay at Waiohai, upgradeable to a 2BR for another $1000, so $1900 for 5 nights. We already have a 5 night Encore at the Maui Ocean Club, plan to use them together…

I rarely get called to set up a sales presentation. The exceptions to that are at Crystal Shores and at Marriott Streamside. I'm glad they bug me so rarely, but I am sometimes tempted by the gift....I can do a lot of damage with some of what they offer.
