We just returned from a week at The Imperial of Waikiki...great weather, great food...just the best! Although we didn't have a car, I walked by the Hale Koa parking office to ask about parking for the general public. Anyone can park there for $12.00/day with a 3 day minimum. If you are not familiar with this parking facility, it is located across the street from the new Trump Tower and very convenient to The Imperial. This won't help the people who stay at Wyndham because of their mandatory $25.00 parking fee, but could be helpful to Imperial guests. The parking office is in the parking structure off Kalia Rd across from the Hale Koa Hotel.

Thanks for the information. The Imperial will start charging $25/day after 1/1/08. This will save a bunch. Although we don't rent a car while in Waikiki (TheBus is great), our friends do and I will be sure to let them know.

We have Wyndham points and have thought about extending our stay for about 3 days to the Wyndham in Waikiki once we complete our week at the Imperial in 2009. If you don't have a car, are you still charged the $25/day fee at the Wyndham?

Just got back from the WBW resort

I thought the rooms were very nice and we rented a car for only one day, returning it that day. I am not impressed with the service of the Thrifty car rental place on Seaside, but it was handy.

I did try to check out the Imperial. I was shown the owners lounge on the top floor and was impressed, I did not see any rooms though. My understanding is there are two ways to own, one own directly through the Imperial and the other with a vacation club. I believe the vacation club provides free parking. I am sure I will be asking more questions about the Imperial in the near future.
