Can you borrow points from next year to be used this year? You have to pay MF in advance and call? Thanks

Yes, you can borrow from next year. You do need to pay your MF in advance. Supposedly that will automatically unlock next year's StarOptions and you'll be able to use them for reservations (presumably online or by phone) but I haven't done it myself. For sure they can handle for you by phone, but it might also be possible to do it online.

You can't borrow online. You have to do it on the phone and they will only borrow enough StarOptions to complete whatever reservation you are making. Do pay your MFs online a few days in advance of when you plan to call and make a reservation.

Thanks. Will call them and pay in advance

Dioxide is right. Paid the MF online and called VIstana owner services and I was able to borrow. You cannot do it online. You cannot do it using chat (tried both). You have to call. You cannot borrow from an EVEN year contract (2022) for ODD year use (2021) You have to borrow from ODD/ODD or E/E year for EOY contracts. Thankfully, I had another yearly contract which I find easier to borrow. Thanks

Hi—has this changed for Vistana owners since the MWW acquisition? In order to borrow do we still have to pay the Mfs first? I thought I read somewhere that MVC did away with that. Since I cannot find the information anywhere I’m hoping the experts here can help. Thanks

I think there was a one off report where someone didn't have to prepay, but there wasn't any official change in policy. So YMMV.

I think you can elect Abound for a future year and borrow and not have to prepay. I'm not sure if anything has changed with having to prepay to borrow StarOptions for exchanging with VSN though.

Thanks. This would be a Vistana resale so it wouldn’t qualify for Abound.

Thank you. With our HGVC we never have to pay to borrow so this was somewhat of a surprise that Starwood required it when we purchased. Was hoping this “perk”‘would have materialized.
