I understood from this forum that you couldn’t sell your VDP points as points because it would revert to premier. Has this changed? I was looking at the market place and there are points for sale. It would be great if it has changed. Anyone know for sure.

Villa group members update meeting

I just went on my Villa Group members update meeting today. Of course they tried to get me to convert my gold membership into a points membership. One of the reasons I gave as to why I didn’t want to convert was that when you sell your points membership it reverts back to a premier membership...

We went to an owners update at Flamingos about three weeks ago. The points contracts do revert into a regular timeshare when sold. In the past the home resort was Puerto Vallarta but now the home resort can be Cabo depending on where the points contract was purchased. They basically are premiere memberships with a high mf. I asked about the name transfer loophold and was told by the sales manager that this loophold doesn't exist.

Supposedly you can add a persons name to the contract and then take your name off without loosing the points benefits. I think you have to do a transfer and call the new person a family member. They don't have any way to verify if you are related other than your word is what I think. It is a $250 transfer cost.

We're currently staying at Flamingos and I attended a meeting where I was told that you can add a 'co-owner' to a points contract, but the original owner needed to remain on the contract.
