We own a one bedroom Estates at Vidanta in Riviera Maya Mexico. We are now getting multiple calls each week inquiring about renting or buying our unit. We have also been solicited by a company seeking to help persons who may have bought at Vidanta but misled at the sales pitch. Have others had that experience? Are any of these calls legitimate? And what has cause this avalanche of calls. Thanks. Ken

noone legitimate makes cold calls to owners about buying/renting/exiting...only scammers

These are scams.

We have been Vidanta owners since 1999, and only one time in 2021, did Vidanta call me out of the blue. I did not answer, and they left me a message with the 1-800-AWAY-I-GO / 1-800-292-9446 number we have had since 1999, so I knew it was legit. As GL gold owners, we have a different # to call for GL reservations, but the original one works too. Anyway, I returned the call and asked for the person who called me, they offered as a special deal because we had not been in a while.

So unless it is the number above, it is NOT Vidanta.

Data with owners names -details & contact informaton - was hacked / stolen / sold.

FYI - now that your information is in the scam-isphere - you will continue get these calls.
I have even received them while on vacation at Vidanta & told them that I was using all my weeks in the Mexican sunshine.

Yup. I get the calls but each time I add them to my phones list of blocked numbers. The other day I accidentally blocked Hank but he had my son's number who called my wife's number who told Hank was calling me. The other problem is the late night or early morning calls so I turn off the ringer which leads to the problem of forgetting to turn it back on. This really helps in the reduction of having to answer the phone so I just leave it off unless my wife wants it on so she can call me.
