Vidanta Nuevo Vallarta: dinner reservations and airport transport?

Headed to Vidanta Grand Mayan in Nuevo Vallarta next month with my family. Looking for some advice on several things:

(1) Airport transportation: my understanding is that if booked through an exchange (II for example for us) there no longer is arranged transportation. Is there still a way to arrange for the same Vidanta transportation from the airport to resort ahead of time with an associated fee? If so, how?

(2) Dinner reservations: I have read that multiple restaurants require reservations and that things can get booked up fast. First off, have others found this to be the case? Can you book reservations ahead of time? or do you need to be on property? There are a lot of restaurant offerings, which would folks recommend (i) for adults vs. (ii) family friendly with kids?

Thanks for any other trip advice you may have. Sounds like one thing everyone can agree on reading forums is it is very key to simply say a firm "no" to any and all timeshare sales pitches. It will be our first time on property and we are very excited!

I believe the inbound transportation can be booked for a fee for non- owners

Dinner reservations

The only place that I saw run out of items is the fresh fish and shrimp at the grill by the wave pool. You pick the whole fish and they grill it. Same with the shrimp. We had a butterfly cut and grilled dorado and a kilo of shrimp that fed four with no problem. The first time we noticed this place they had sold out. The second time we went back they had two dorado left so we bought one. It's more of an interesting lunch thing than a dinner.

On top of the roof of the Grand Luxxe building 5 is a very nice view of sunset and we ended up here a few times. We never had a reservation.

I think the need for dinner reservations depends on it you go at peak season or not. We needed them for peak season. We make them a few days before. If not peak season you probably can get away with no reservations. I concur that the restaurant on top of Grand Luxxe Building 5 is good. Go at sunset if you can.

Heck, if you're staying at the Grand Mayan, I'd definitely hike down the beach to the Sea Garden and exit through the lobby there. Lots of good and cheap restaurants in the marina district.

While we were there in Oct/Nov last year - we had no issues getting into the various Restaurants, if you are patient - some may require a wait if you don't have a reservation (Gong took over an hour - The Burger place was about 30min)
