Vidanta: How strict are they about pool use?

We have a week coming up at Mayan Palace Nuevo Vallarta in March. We’ve only ever stayed at Grand Mayan and are lamenting not being able to use GM’s pool area. Does anyone know how strict they are in enforcing pool access? In all the times we’ve stayed there, I can’t recall a time when we had to scan into the pool area?

I don't recall NV being particularly picky about pool access at the Grand Mayan. The Grand Luxxe was a different story.

The tags on the wristbands are color-coded, so in principle staff can tell if you belong or not just by looking. And, maybe they are diligent about asking people with the "wrong" wristbands to leave, but I can't say I've ever seen it happen.

Thanks, @bnoble! We were thinking the same thing. We've stayed in Grand Luxxe before and that was WAY more exclusive. We're still hoping we'll get an upgrade when we check in.
