Does anyone have information on what appears to be a new resort in the Cabo area? Is it proximate to the existing resort, or a brand new stand alone? Thanks for any insight.
Check this out http://www.vidanta.com/en/destinations/east-cape It is from the Vidanta website. It can tell you more than I know. It is not near the current Grand Mayan and is on the East side of the Baja Peninsula. They seem to have huge plans for it. When we were there in October 2009, the salesmen were starting to talk about it.
I was just in San Jose Cabo and talked to a wonderful lady in the sales dept. and she was very sorry but said that the resort will not be ready for at least 4-5 years. It has been very difficult to get any information concerning this, so at least I know now.
I was told not too long ago that the road and bridge to the property are in. Underground utilities were under construction when the hurricane hit last year and cause major damage. This set back the opening date.
I think the main focus now for new construction is Nuevo Vallarta and once that is complete, East Cape will move along more quickly.
