When we were in NV last month, there were "strong rumors" that East Cape was opening in 2024 and they would be taking reservations "soon". I called reservations, and they said "soon" as well but wouldn't say when or exactly what room types. Estates only? It is a long way from anywhere. Variety of restaurants built? Anyone have any firsthand experience, been on a tour of the property recently, etc.? I can't imagine an Estates owner going there and being happy if there were just some places to sleep and a pool. I did ask reservations what type of reservations would be available, and she indicated only the upper levels of membership. I don't remember her exact words.

LOL

But thank you for a good update .

I asked about East Cape when we did an update in 2016.
The salesperson laughed - and said
" It will open when owner / management decides it is ready to open "

I later heard he was promoted to a sales manager role - so I guess telling the truth can get you promoted at Vida Sales.

It's been since before Covid but we drove out to the Vidanta East Cape area. We could only get as close as the north ocean end of the Zacatitos development. The only thing here was a small restaurant called Zac's. About 20 minutes south is the Los Cabos Marina area with a few restaurants. The area is beautiful in a desert / ocean way. The resort will be so far from anything "Cabo" it might need to be AI and a destination by itself, imo.

Considering how they built NV, that might just be the intention. right?

Probably. The area is mostly vacation homes between Los Cabos Marina and Vidanta East Cape. If you head north there is the Cabo Pulmo Marine reserve. The road is crap but that would change. There really isn't anything out there but there wasn't really anything more for the Villa Group to build Loreto and that turned out really good for a remote type resort.
