Vermont (Any reports from Timeshares ?)

I live in Brattleboro, VT which was pretty hard hit. As far as resorts go, anyone at the Crafts Inn in Wilmington who didn't leave before Sunday is now stranded there as the town is completely cut off by road washouts. I think there may also be a ts at Mount Snow, which would be in the same situation now. There were local evacuations so perhaps folks got out in time, though the flash floods happened so fast that many weren't able to respond in time.

Don't know about other resorts.

I understand that Ludlow is/was "cut off" by road travel.

I stayed at Jackson Gore in Ludlow 3 weeks ago. I will call them and report back . The only saving grace that I can think of for Jackson Gore is that it is up a steep hill/side of mountain and I cannot remember seeing any streams, creeks or rivers close by.

Not good: http://ireport.cnn.com/docs/DOC-664297 - downtown Ludlow where we had breakfast.

I just got an e-mail reply from Seasons at Sugarbush in Warren, VT. The resort was unharmed, but Warren and Waitfield have many washed out roads.

Trapp Family Lodge reports only minor damage. Stowe appears to have gotten lucky.

Does anyone know if the areas of Bennington and Manchester received significant flooding. Due to vacation there last week of September. Not sure if I should post pone trip.

This From Smugglers Notch

I am sure you have all seen the terrible images on the national news of the effect of Irene on Vermont.

Smugglers' is extremely fortunate as the storm spared us the brunt of its fury and we have some but minor damage. Our emphasis on storm water management systems served us very well!

Unfortunately many towns and communities will be a long time in recovery. The hardest hit areas are in Southern Vermont.

Thank you for the many phone calls and emails received from our owners inquiring on how they can help. We contacted our Lamoille County Senator, Rich Westman, to see how we can assist. He highly suggested donations to the Bennington Food Shelf as they are quickly running low on supplies and there are no local stores operating in this region due to the flood. If you would like to contribute to this effort, please make your check payable to Sacred Heart "His Pantry". You can mail your check directly to me at Smugglers' and I will personally see that your contribution is delivered promptly. Other organizations accepting donations are the American Red Cross and the United Way.

We hope you were as fortunate as Smugglers' in your hometown.

Warm Regards,
Bill Stritzler
