We will be travelling to Vegas the first week of November and the first week of March. While I am not terribly concerned about pool access at that time of year I am interested in knowing if any of the pools are likely to be open. We have Elara booked for November (Adult trip) and Flamingo for March with the kids. Pool access in March would be a bigger issue. There seems to be plenty of Vegas pool info on the net but nothing clear about when pools open other than generic language about being seasonal and a list of resorts that have pools open year round that does not include either Elara or Flamingo. For those that travel to Vegas regularly can you provide some experience?

Can only speak to Elara pool. It opens/closes seasonally depending on weather. It will most likely not be open in March unless the weather is unseasonably warm - I think it tends to open between the middle and end of April normally.

Chances are better that it will be open the first week of November, but again if it's unseasonably cool it may close early. Normally when we are there the second week of November it is already closed and they are packing the chairs up.

The pool at HGVC pool at the Flamingo is open year round. It is heated in the winter. I enjoyed it this last January. The Flamingo location is good in march because when the pool opens at the Flamingo Hotel it is loud all day due to the Flamingo’s Party pool atmosphere.

We were at the Elara the first week of April this year, and the pool was disappointingly closed.

A other issue with the Vegas pools this year (the Elara pool especially!) is a lifeguard shortage. All of the lifeguards at the Elara pool this year are contracted through another company (they're normally hired by HGV as staff), and even then the company sometimes lacks enough lifeguards to keep the entire pool open. Throughout the day in early May they had sections of the Elara pool closed off due to lack of lifeguards to staff the lifeguard stations (four).
