I am looking for a reasonable mf Marriott. Is there a place on Tug to see 2012 Mfs. by
resort. I am considering looking for a resale week.

Here's the 2012 MF's thread with quite a few of the resorts. Other than that, anyone who is a Marriott owner can find MF's for each of the resorts on my-vacationclub.com. Sign in to your account, click on "Resort Search," then the resort, then click the "Owners" tab - the Operating Budget and MF info is all there. (Anyone who's not a Marriott owner can ask here for a specific resort; we'll be happy to look it up.)

If you click on the spreadsheet link below (called a Points Spreadsheet) it will take you to a list of propeties that includes 2011 MFs (but not updated for 2012).

Another alternative would be to search this forum for the message titled something like Post your 2012 Maintenance Fees here -- likely started in October 2011.

Good luck!

Greg

Edited: good work Sue with the link...

Thanks to both of you. What would you buy for a trader?

This question comes up a lot and it often depends on what you're trying to trade for. Cheapest Mf with good trade power is Willow Ridge 2 bed plat. There are a lot of people who like 3-bedroom Grande Vista. For about $200 more in MF you can either deposite the 3-bd or split off the studio for an additional deposit. 3-Bd Grand Chatue is a little more in mf, but it splits into a 2-bed and 1-bed. DSV is also another popular trader, mf aren't as cheap as Willow Ridge, but it ofters a great fall back as a drive to resort.

It doesn't seem that Branson would be a good trader. It does not have lockoffs, right? What is DSV?

Steve, that is a fabulous summary (and how I feel too) -- nothing to add....

Best,

Greg

Willow Ridge has both non-lockoff and lock-off. Tuggers have said it doesn't matter which one you own, any owner can use the lock-off if available.

The summer Park City Marriotts are very good traders. MF are lower at Mountainside than Summit Watch. Both properties are in high demand during the summer months ( gold season).

Is there someplace that you would like to go repeatedly, so that you'd trade only some of the time. Perhaps even in driving distance? If so, that would factor into what the "best trader" would be for you.

Do you have a lot of travel flexibility and/or what size unit do you need? Your needs are very different if you need 2BR's during school holidays versus being able to make last minute plans and are fine with a studio or 1BR.

I do have a lot of flexibility and avoid holidays. I do not travel much in summer. I have stayed at many Marriotts and have 3 more booked this year already.
I want urban resorts like MCU, natural beauty resorts and occasionally Hawaii.
I do not know if I am going to buy a Marriott trader. If I do it will probably be a 1 BR to get priority. I just purchased a 2 br Starwood lockoff. I do like to have a kitchen. Very reasonable fees are important to me, but if it doesn't pull highly desirable stuff, it is no good to me. Trying to decide if I can get in for a low enough cost per year to justify the expense.:ponder:
