Charismatic and versatile, he also won praise for memorable roles as Iceman in 'Top Gun' and Doc Holliday in 'Tombstone,' but his unpredictable behavior ruffled some feathers in Hollywood.

I’m not a fan of westerns or any kind of movie with much violence and gun play. I just don’t find that entertaining. However, Val Kilmer as Doc Holiday is probably my all-time favorite movie role. He was perfect! He was so funny, and poignant, showing true love and dedication to his best friend. He has always been at the top of my list of favorite actors for that role, alone. He’s battled health issues for the past decade and died far too young. “I’m your huckleberry” will live as long as movies are watched. RIP, Val!

 
I loved the movie "Real Genius" where he showed his early comedic chops.

For a bit of trivia in that movie: For Cowboy Bebop fans - the American voice actor who dubbed the voice of Jet Black, Beau Billingslea, had a rare on-screen appearance in the beginning of the movie.
 
My favorite movie with Val Kilmer was Top Gun. When he played Iceman. Navy aircrafts carriers pilots are just liked Iceman. They are very special and different. IMHO.

When you can land a jet plane on a moving carrier you are very special. IMHO.

May Val Kilmer RIP.

This is embarrassing, but I never realized the actor in tombstone and top gun were the same person
