I am considering joining the points program but don't know who my VOA is (if I even have one). Anyone have an advisor they would recommend. I am particularly interested in finding an advisor that we be helpful after the conversion.

PM me if it is not appropriate to post the contact information.

Thanks

This may be a European thing, but I was advised that weeks owners only have a "personal" VOA for their first 6 months of ownership, supposedly whilst trying to get to understand the system.
After 6 months, they say you have to speak to whoever answers in Owner Services.
Clearly though if you can find a particularly knowledgeable one, that would be a great advantage,
I believe though that if you join the Points program, you may get a named VOA to contact?
Hopefully someone else can give you specific details.

Is the lack of responses an indication that the advisor is not important. I at least need an advisor that is aware of the additional AC's that are received if an additional non-Marriott Interval account.

I don't know how to request a certain advisor but can tell you that since I enrolled, my new advisor's name and telephone extension are at the top right corner of the my-vacationclub.com website once I sign in. Calls to the Points telephone line seem to work the same way as calls to the old line - the first available VOA takes your call. I've made quite a few calls since enrolling and haven't spoken yet to my assigned VOA. :)

I have not enrolled and my advisor's name and phone # have always (at least the last 5 yrs or so) are at the top right hand corner of the my-vacationclub.com website once I have signed in. I rarely reach her--I always speak to whomever answers.

You're right. What I tried to say is that once I enrolled, my advisor's name and telephone number changed but the info for the new one could be found in the same place as the old. :)

NJDave, you should try calling the Points telephone line at 800-845-4226 for answers to your questions - that's the new line for DC-related info and any VOA who answers it should be able to help you.

About the AC's - the standard answer if you only have Marriott weeks in your II acount should be that shortly after (if) you enroll, you will receive a second corporate/Marriott II account and your old/Individual account will remain open through its expiration date. If you do not have any pending exchange requests in your old account, then in lieu of canceling it and giving you a refund of pro-rated dues, II will deposit AC's into the old account depending on its expiration date - between 1 year and 35 months remaining, one AC; between 3 years and 59 months, two AC's; 5 years or more, three AC's. The first AC deposit will be made within 60 days of your new account opening; it should expire one year from the day of issue and appears to be have more severe limitations for locations and flexchange opportunities. (I don't remember seeing that anyone who is due multiple AC's has gotten them all at once, maybe that means II will be issuing them at the 35-month and 59-month time frames.) These AC's will be processed and the fees for their use will be paid by you through your old II account.

Obviously the answer you get may be different because you mention non-Marriott weeks in your II account. Hopefully someone else in your shoes will stop by here to tell you their experience.
