I had a few incidents to try to use restuarant certificate.

1. I went alone, order two entrees which was over $35 (one-taking home) and a manager came and told me that it's for two people not one person in order to use it. So I told her that I ordered two entrees...

2. I went with my DH and ordered one steak and one chicken gril sandwich with a few drinks. The same manager came to me and saying that the chicken grill sandwich is not an entree, and suggested me to order from dinner menus (IT WAS NEW YEAR EVE).
Anyone has similar experince?

I sent e-mail to the restuarant but so far not much helpful.
I still have a few more certificates for the same restuarant and I hesitat
to go there.
The restuarant is no longer offering Restuarant.com certificate.

Rules are rules. The restaurant affiliates with restaurant.com to bring in traffic. I don't believe the restaurant receives ANY money from restaurant.com. The certificates are a good deal but the restaurant wants to make money and stipulates rules to help that happen. Two people usually spend more than one person ordering two entrees. An entree on their menu is an entree on their menu. Follow the rules and enjoy your certificates.

One other thing: the coupons are to be used for food consumed in the restaurant...no take out. You should read the rules more carefully next time.

Unless I've missed something, there is NO RESTRICTION on take-out orders. If the "certificate" says that you have to purchase 2 dinners, or 4 dinners, and does NOT say they have to be consumed in the restaurant, then yo can take all of them "to go".

I've done that several time in the Lake Tahoe area.

Many of the certs say 'dine in' only..each cert is different and you need to READ everything on them before you use them.

My kids have them for NYC and some are specifically for take out only....

While some restaurants are more generous than they need to be...there are many who sign on for promotion through restaurant.com based on the listed terms...and most certs print the following out along with your certificate...at least it's always printed out for me when I've gotten them. Most restaurants are not willing to offer the same deals for take out because it minimizes their profit to the point of ridiculous (or non-existent.) When people dine in, they will generally order drinks and possibly apps or desert...so even though profit on the meal is lost...they'll still make money and they're servers will earn tips as well...so everyone benefits.

The general terms of use per the site at : http://restaurant.com/terms.asp?pgn=x
