Has anyone used HGV points for car rental? I'm new to Hilton and was told that was possible. I'm also unsure how to go about doing that. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you.

I have not heard using points for car rentals,, i checked the partner perks section of the website and saw deal for RV rental, but did not see any car option. In my opinion the best use of your HGVC points it to stay at HGVC resorts. While you can exchange for hotel points or airline miles/credit and others like cruises but unfortunately there is sizable loss of value on the exchange value.

I agree with @1Kflyerguy. I think there might have been in the past but like @1Kflyerguy said these are usually not a worthwhile use of HGVC points. But you could call into a club counselor to make sure.

Here's the link but it's only available via Bonus Points - https://club.hiltongrandvacations.com/en/airline-car-rentals

Car Rentals were also available with via regular Club Points too (however it seems like the rules changed but you can call to verify).

From http://clubtraveler.hgvclub.com/your-club/use-points-purchase-air-travel-or-car-rental
"Club Members can use ClubPoints, Bonus Points and/or cash to book a flight or rent a car through Hilton Grand Vacations Travel, our trusted travel provider. Flights and rental car reservations can be purchased at a rate of 2,000 points per $200. A one-time, non-refundable handling fee of $24.99 will be applied to your airline or rental car transactions."

I think you can use Hhonors points for car rental. Those are different than HGVC points.

I had forgotten about that... that is probably what the salesperson was referring to.

When you do the math - this is a VERY expensive car rental. This benefit is about as USELESS as the exchange ration re changing HGV Points into HH Points
