And to think, in the GOOD OLD DAYS .... 9,000 RR points got you a round trip flight.

Hmmm, IIRC, the conversion rate for flying is 60 RR points per dollar of travel cost. At that rate, 9000 RR points equates to $150. But a PreCheck application only costs $85 if paid directly.

First, the waiting list for TSA Pre is about four months. Second, my cost on 9K points is about $54, so a good deal for me. Tomorrow is our appointment for TSA Pre. We have waited a long time, and Rick is just thrilled the time has arrived for us to get our known traveler number to add to all of our airline FF accounts.

You can still get some of those. We got Denver to Santa Ana last year for 2,650 points each way. That was incredible.
