Use of Pelican Resort (St. Martin) facilities for a day?

Yes, I know it seems I've posted this in the wrong forum, but I am asking my question here first as this is where I'm likely to find most of the Royal Resort owners who will have the answer!

We are taking a Caribbean cruise next week and one of the stops will be St. Martin. We would like to take the opportunity while in port to spend the day at the Pelican Resort & Marina, mostly to see if this would make a nice exchange for our Sands or Haciendas weeks some time in the future.

I seem to recall reading in the last issue of the Owner's Manual (which focused on the Pelican Resort) that as Royal Resort owners we are eligible to use any of the sister resorts on a "day use" basis, even outside our "week".

My question is: Has anyone ever done this before at the Pelican Resort or have any information to confirm that this is possible? If so, was advance notification required or did you just show up? How were restaurant & bar charges handled as we wouldn't have a room key linked to an account?

Looking forward to any insights any Royal Resort Tuggers might have!

I've never seen anyone who monitors who uses the pools or beach. There is no security to check in with when you drive in or taxi to the resort. Since there is a casino, plus a water sports and tour center on site that are used by people not staying at the resort, people who are not staying at the resort are constantly in and out. You should have no problem, bring a beach towel and make yourself comfortable!

Sounds great ... but how do we pay for stuff?

Timesharejunkie;

Many thanks for the encouraging words! As an owner at the Pelican Resort, would you know if we can use cash at the pool bar and/or at the resort restaurant for lunch? Makes for a long day if we can't at least sip on a Guavaberry cocktail or nibble on some Callaloo soup while we're there!
