Upgrading to HGCV Max

Has anyone moved their points from Diamond to Max recently? Or what's the lowest entry cost you've heard of someone getting to get into MAX? Did a presentation at Point at Poipu today, was told $10k, just wondering what other people have been offered. Also told they modified the Max benefits again, added unlimited upgrades but wouldn't provide anything to me that stated that in writing so probably not doing it.

You wouldn't be moving your points, you'd be getting access to a new Exchange. For $10k, I'd consider if you really want access to HGVC locations, and if so, buy a resale deed over there. You'd get the more likely ability to book at 9months out at a minimum.

and you'd get 9 months out reservation window with your new deeded points (not combined with your DRI points, sadly).

if you do buy into MAX retail, you'll get 6 months reservation window to HGVC properties.

UNLESS you are being given a chance (sold) to trade in DRI points for an HGVC deed. i'm not sure this happens though?

even in that case, i'd think you'd be better off just keeping your DRI set up alone, and buying a resale HGVC deed. then you'd have the best of both worlds.
