*Update ***Another Scam Company*** [Simple Compassion AKA The Ocean Group]

I got ripped off by a company called Simple Compassion, they told me they were going to recover my funds from any resale company I had paid a upfront fee to. They took my money then shut down, We'll I have been searching and investigating them and their address and now I came across another company in the same location, same Non profit,same wording and same scam!!! They were never licensed and now they are trying to rip more people off.. the new name is Ocean Group Project, INC.
I contacted the Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services and they informed me as to why they were originally shut down!!! . Dont do any business with THE OCEAN GROUP PROJECT, THEY WILL RIP YOU OFF!!!!!!!
I got this information directly off their site!!! This was the same address listed for Simple Compassion and one of the owners is a relative of the owner from Simple Compassion! Everyone that ownes a Timeshare property before you pay ANYONE that contacts you, make sure to check with the state that they are in deed licensed and able to do what they promise you. If not your allowing yourself to be scammed!!!!

Sorry that happened to you, Alexa. The moderators may move this to buying/selling - we at TUG will always tell you never to pay any upfront fees to sell your timeshare- and now they're getting upfront fees to get back upfront fees. These guys are slick.

Stick around TUG and you may find a way to use your timeshare or sell it - but not even close to what you purchased it for (especially if you bought it from the developer rather than resale). But don't feel badly - many of us got into timesharing this way too - paying too much at first -but now we're enjoying great vacations.

Welcome to TUG.. it would have been a better outcome if you had searched timeshare resales first and then you would have know not to deal with most of the scum bag resale drips not the other way around..

hope you are not out too much money.. cause you are out the money.. so forgetaboutit.. now you know better and stick around here.. you can learn more about timeshare in a week than most sales people that have been in timeshare for 2 yrs know..

but welcome.. be sure to tell you friends and others you know that might be timeshare people. we love the company.

What is/was your relationship with Simple Compassion? Looking at the license for Simple Compassion, I see that it is also an active business, and that you have some of the same principals involved?

I see by your business license that "The Ocean Group" has been in business for approx. 35 days - is that correct?

I see that you have a "mandatory donation" (there's an oxymoron) to represent someone. How much is your minimum "mandatory donation"?

Also - commercial user names are not permitted on TUG and I will send you a pm with more info. about that.

State consumer officials arrested a 26-year-old man with outstanding felony warrants who is accused of running an unlicensed telemarketing operation in Hallandale Beach. The state Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services arrested Robert Eugene Servis during an inspection when they said they found him and his employees conducting telephone telemarketing sales through Simple Compassion Inc. Servis is listed as the company's president on state incorporation records. State officials said Servis had applied for a telemarketing license in February but was denied.

It always strikes me as odd when these types of opportunistic outfits actually step forward and try to defend their unseemly practices at a site like TUG, where their credibility hovers dangerously close to zero right from the git go. I suspect there are relatively few TUG viewers or participants who just fell off the turnip truck, although these outfits seem to presume otherwise.

In any event, "sayonara" to Ocean Group Project, from which I'm betting we won't be hearing back....

Bronson Announces Arrest Of South Florida Telemarketer

May 14, 2010

TALLAHASSEE – Florida Agriculture and Consumer Services Commissioner Charles H. Bronson today announced the arrest of an unlicensed South Florida telemarketer for soliciting telemarketing sales without a license.

Arrested by Bronson’s Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement was Robert Eugene Servis, 21, of Miami Beach.

Authorities allege that Servis and his unlicensed employees were soliciting telemarketing sales without a license at Simple Compassion Inc., located at 1205 E. Hallandale Beach Blvd. in Hallandale Beach. The violations were discovered on Thursday during a compliance inspection conducted by Bronson’s Division of Consumer Services. According to Bronson’s Office of Agricultural Law Enforcement, Servis had been previously denied a telemarketing license in February of this year.

Following his arrest, Servis was immediately booked into the Broward County Jail without bond on charges of soliciting telephone sales without a telemarketing license. Servis also had an outstanding felony warrant for violation of probation regarding a fraudulent use of identification (identity theft) and petit theft case.

I am ASTOUNDED that these scum bags are back in business already!

On Aug. 3rd, The Ocean Group removed Cindi Servis from their "nonprofit" registration with the state of Florida.

In case you missed it, both of these companies are registered as Non-profits! Yeah right!
