We'll be there in Sept to visit Glacier n/p. We have 1 br unit. Do you have any suggestion of which unit we should request (if we can)? I need internet connection and we like to use their hot tub.

Thank you.

We stayed in unit 208 and it was pretty convenient to the internet connections (you just had to go down a short flight of stairs, outside and around to a ground level entrance to a lobby in the next building). Halfway through the week we found that we were unable to connect our laptop to the server. Fortunately, we were able to go over to the Alpenglow, just above the Edelweiss, and use their computer. We were unable to use our laptop there, either.

The hot-tub is in another adjacent building.

You'll love being walking distance to the gondola/chair lift. We never got tired of riding up to the top and either walking down, or hiking around the top and riding down again. There is a casual restaurant at the top, and on Fridays in the summer they have "Summit Fridays" where they allow people to ride for free and they have music at the top.

Glacier Park -- we spent two nights in the Park, and were glad that we made reservations at some of the historic lodges there. It's awe inspiring. Like Grand Canyon, I'm glad we stayed overnight to get the full experience.

Please let us know how your trip was. We to are going in September but not till 2007 ugh!!!!. I'm wondering if the weather will be ok and if things will still be open. Write a review on the resort.

Ginny, thank you for your info. Did you find out why you were unable to connect your laptop? I'll be taking my laptop. Is there any grocery str near by? or should we shop in Whitefish? Any restaurants recommendations (I read there are 5-6 places w/i ~400 yrds)?

Thanks.

Kiotaka,
We didn't pursue why the laptop connection didn't work, since we just needed to check personal email. However, my DH suspected that the router needed to be reset after a short power outage. Don't know if that would have fixed it - we reported the problem to the front desk, but don't know if it got relayed - the problem didn't get fixed by the next day. We just shrugged our shoulders.

As I said, Alpenglow had a guest computer they let us use for $3. There are also coffeehouses in Whitefish that have Wi-Fi.

We had ribs at the top of the mountain - rode the chairlift up. Great view, tasty ribs.

Loula's in Whitefish is a cool breakfast and lunch place - awesome huckleberry pie. High ceilings, quilts on the wall, funky art, casual atmosphere.

There are a number of restaurants within walking distance on Big Mountain - most were not open for lunch and we didn't usually eat dinner out. Alpenglow had a nice dining room and deck.

There's a small on-site store, but you should get groceries in Whitefish.

Nice touch at check-in - we found a bottle of wine in the refrigerator with a welcome note from the resort.

We didn't visit the Canadian parks on this trip -- but it seems to be a natural extension of the trip to Glacier. Several people we met were doing that.

I went to Banff and Jasper when I was a kid. :)
