HGVC GP Marbrisa
Two years ago we traded a week to HGVC Club at MarBrisa through RCI. We enjoyed it very much. We have noticed some properties on RedWeek that are for sale at MarBrisa, some are for Grand Pacific at Marbrisa, and others at HGVC Club at Marbrisa. I looked into RCI to find GP Marbrisa , but they only list HGVC Club at MarBrisa. What is the difference between the two resorts? Is it at the same place, and is it possible to trade into RCI if one owns at Grand Pacific MarBrisa? Which is the better property to consider?

They are all managed by and in the HGVC system. The older section was originally developed and managed by Grand Pacific. GP partnered with HGVC to sell and manage MarBrisa and that partnership exists to this day. The new section was HGVC from the start and that section is recommended by most. GP still does the transfer paperwork and closings for MarBrisa.

There was a rumor back in December that HGVC was going buy MarBrisa from GP, but I haven’t heard anything since.

If I understand correctly, the new section of MarBrisa is HGVC Club at MarBrisa? Do you know if GP is available for trade within RCI, and, if I purchase a Grand Pacific at MarBrisa property, will I be able to trade with that in RCI?

All of MarBrisa is available for trade within RCI as its all part of HGVC. There is no current GP section as it’s all HGVC.

If you buy a Grand Pacific deed serviced by Advanced Financial, then yes it can be added to an RCI account and traded. You will also get a GPX account and be able to trade it there also.

I sold a Seapointe deed about 5 years ago AVFin charged about $400 to process the transfer. I still have the GPX and RCI accounts even though I no longer own it.

Does the Grand Pacific deed have to be serviced by Advanced Financial to be added to an existing RCI account?

Well my point was that if HGV is managing it you will get RCI through the HGV account.

If AF, then its one of the old Grand Pacific deeds that needs a separate RCI account. If you stay there it will probably be one of the older units in the section they call The Pointe D, not the newer HGV developed Cove B section. I’m not sure how booking works for those old deeds, or if you can get HGV points.

Either way it will trade through RCI if thats what you want, but there are better timeshares with lower annual fees to trade in RCI.
